Great video! I've been realizing recently how much of an impact this channel has had on my life, like wow. I'm applying to MIT rn (deadline in 2 days.. gulp) and much of the curiosity I have about stem in general can be traced back to the joy I got out of watching your videos in elementary and middle school. Still watching! AND I just learned that George Hart is your father; I've used your dad's old VR Polyhedra website countless times as reference for sculptures without ever knowing the connection, and judging by this video it runs in the family lol. I just want to say thank you for your total authenticity; your videos have genuinely altered many peoples' life course and I hope they continue to inspire the young and old to ask questions and explore math for years to come. Methinks the real supersmartie is none other than you!
Last year I switched from teaching high school math to teaching a middle school STEAM elective. I have a 7th grader who walks into my class every day with a huge smile and yells, “Best class of the day!” That’s how I feel when Vi posts 🤩
I love when you pop back up again with another video! 13 years ago your "doodling in math class" video came across my reccomended after i watched a video about fractals and you really showed me the small joys of math. ❤
I just want to say that I've followed your channel for almost 10 years!! Back then I wasn't even as good with English as now. Tbh, if I remember correctly, for some time I think you didn't uploaded as often and I would regularly check until I forgot...Today for some reason I opened my notifications and instantly recognized the cute happy triangle, I don't even know exactly why but I'm so excited LOL it was like a throwback to my younger years. Anyway, I see you did uploaded videos so I'm gonna go watch them. Wish you the best!!

Man, im so glad you are back. I started watching you when i first moved to England and couldn't speek English. Watching your videos is not only interesting but it also feels like a cozy blanket. Happy Halloween 🎃
this video posits many postulations, none more intriguing to me than the implication that one "smartie" is one pack of smarties, rather than each individual candy piece being a smartie and the whole thing being a pack of smarties.
I started watching these videos in middle school, and now I'm in my last year of grad school (in statistics). Vi Hart, thank you for having such a positive influence on my life ❤
I remember finding your hexaflexagon video years ago and seeing that you had posted recently made my week. I have always loved how relaxed yet educational your videos are. You are definitely one of the people that keeps me eager to learn.
I've been intimately familiar with Smarties for more than three decades. They are one of my mom's favorite candies. But this is the first time I have ever heard anyone use the word "Smarties" to refer to the packs of candy pieces rather than the pieces themselves. My mom and I would refer to one of your "bits" as a "Smartie" - each wrapper contains around a dozen Smarties to begin with. (Ironically, I myself prefer Dum Dums.)
I subrscibed to you on my other account a little over 10 years ago now. I was in elementary school and LOVED your videos. The fact that you still put out a video every now and again and they're just about the same as they've been since then brings me a great sense of peace and happiness
My math teacher showed me your videos when I was in the 10th grade. I still come back to watch. Excellent post!! Procrastination is such fertile soil for utter garbage!
Awesome! “The hands know to add hot glue!” Love it! I’m eating a mini bag of Trolli Sour Brite Crawlers minis from a leftover work Halloween candy stash
I used to watch these videos all the time when I was younger, and it introduced me to a whole bunch of cool stuff like the Fibonacci sequence when I was like 8, and TH-cam only just now decided to recommend Vi’s videos to me and it feels good to be back! Always nice to see when a TH-camr you haven’t watched in a long time is still making great videos :D

One Smartie has a height of about 5mm, and the Earth is 24,901 miles in circumference, so that's about 8,014,854,990 individual smarties to make a Supersmartie big enough to wrap around the Earth - at 15 Smarties a roll, that's 534,323,666 (spooky!) Smartie logs. Which honestly doesn't sound that bad!

Extremely apt considering I'm watching this at nearly 4:00 AM when I should be studying for the midterm exam I have in 12 hours
It kinda feels like a CGP Grey quote
I want to like this comment so bad but it's sat too perfectly at 600
That and "I am considering regretting getting myself into this" are what make this the realest video ever. Even if it is still utter garbage.

Me with every candy that has multiple shapes or colours in one pack
