Instantly requesting "Bury The Light" form the same game, it's an absolute masterpiece that involved some people from the prog/djent metal world (Periphery bassist was responsible for production)
The lyrics do indeed appear during gameplay - depending on how well you fight, the music shifts to the more energetic, upbeat parts of the song, starting you off with the slow, foreboding intro when a fight begins. Oh, and I'm still here!
Something kinda funny about playing this character in the game is that a big part of his combat involves charging his gun, a six shot revolver, which allows it to fire two bullets at a time for three shots in total. So it isn't uncommon for the player to fire the gun exactly three times back to back. They knew what they were doing lol.
The song was used in the first trailers for the game wich helped getting people get hyped for the game. The "Pull my Devil Trigger" part stayed in peoples mind as the hook, as you mentioned. The Devil Trigger is also a game mechanic in wich the playable character is part devil and you can activate it to get a temporary power boost with your devil form. So it hooked new players with the catchy tune and old players with a bit of nostalgia. The song got so popular, it was live performed on The Game Awards show. The follow up song for a different character buried the song a little bit. With Virgil's song "Bury the Light" it was pushed to second place for many fans, as Devil Trigger feels a bit repetitive compared to the very varied Bury the Light. But that is just my very biased opinion.
When I hear "Pull My Devil Trigger" I can't help but laugh, it makes me recall the nasty joke where someone asks you to pull their finger and then farts when you do
So the game has a "Style Meter", which letter-grades how stylish your gameplay is at any given time. The song ramps up the higher your style rating is, and the lyrics kick in at the highest ranks - it goes D to A, then S, SS, SSS, with lyrics kicking in at the S ranks.
i pretty sure there are lyrics for D-A however at like half way through A rank it starts to play the build up for the chorus or the main hook of the song and once you get S it plays the chorus

This song strongly ties in with the story as well, Nero is one of the three (four) protagonists of the game, each of them with their own story and soundtrack. You were right in that the song is functioning as an obvious battle theme, with it's call to action in the lyrics, and up-beat, almost dancing instrumental, but both the instruments and the lyrics were also made to reflect the character. You may have noticed the game has a strong demon, or should I say, "Devil" motive, in the lyrics there were a lot of analogies made of him being like a demon, such as "embrace the darkness that is within me", "gotta let it out", "All this vengeance inside me", etc... The song reflects a lot of Nero's inner turmoil, both in the metaphorical sense, as him being a young man who knows nothing of life, yet had to struggle from the day he was born and abandoned by his parents, as well as in the literal sense, which I'm not going to get into because spoilers. The music itself also reflects his aggressive, but at the same time boisterous nature, with the aggressive almost metal sounds, being pulled back a little by the electronic, almost party music, it's really just an all round perfect reflection of both the battle, as well as the character's story. If you are looking to react to another song from the game, there are three more main themes, "Subhuman" is Dante's battle theme, "Crimson cloud" is V's battle theme, and "Bury the light" is Virgil's battle theme, out of them all, I would say "Bury the light" is probably the best out of all themes (in my opinion, obviously), and I'm also the most curious to see your analysis of it.
I'm just gonna say it, Crimson Cloud isn't terrible, I just don't feel like it flows quite as well as the other songs do, if that even makes sense. A lot of the lyrics feel kind of dissonant (forgive me if I'm using that word incorrectly) and it sounds an awful lot like they're kind of just talking instead of singing for some of the song, but I feel like when the chorus actually hit it was quite decent. It wasn't horrible, but I feel like it was incredibly overshadowed by the vastly superior themes of nearly every other character and enemy in the game. Plus, it was really out of place for a Devil May Cry game, if I'm honest. Not in a fresh and exciting way, but more just a slightly disappointing way. So, overall, I'd say it fits as V's theme pretty well.
@@TheActualRealDrPepper what's interesting, since you mentioned it, if you watch the Behind The Scenes for Crimson Cloud, they talk about how they changed a few words in the lyrics. It was supposed to be "Fight for my life", but got changed to "Fight for your life", cause with V, he can't regenerate health like Nero, Dante, and Vergil could when they activate their Devil Triggers. The song is basically telling us, the players, that when we're playing as V, we're literally fighting for our lives, he's not as strong as the others, and has to rely on his demon pets to bring the enemy's health down for him to deliver the final blow. But not only that, it was also telling us V's story, his origins, right to us, but we didn't know until he revealed his "birth" to Trish.
Yeah the music plays during fighting gameplay. The cool thing is that the music is dynamic and depending how stylish you are, the part of the song that is playing changes as well the.
I'd say that's a mix of Dark EDM, and just pure-bred Industrial. And honestly, the difference between Dark EDM and just regular EDM often is just that it's in a minor key. If you'd like to check out songs that kind of fit on either side of this, tying the genres together; for D-EDM: The Last Dance by Covenant, and for Industrial: You Know What You Are by Ministry.
Now that you mention it, Devil Trigger reminds me quite a lot of my favorite Pendulum songs, too. If you’re unfamiliar, and are so inclined, try Watercolor, Witchcraft, or Propane Nightmares.
Don't know if anyone's explained this yet, but here's a thing about the DMC and how the tracks add to it. The objective of the game isn't to beat the enemy, it's to style on them so hard their dignity breaks worse than their bones. People have already mentioned how the track shifts by "Style Rank", let me explain how this mechanic interacts. The game tracks how damaging, how varied, and how hard you showboat while attacking enemies. The more you do these, the higher the rank gets, the heavier the track gets. You can have a situation where you've slapped a timed explosive on an enemy, combo them, and sent them flying into another group of enemies by cratering them into the ground with a sharpened engine, stopping to taunt them by pointing his gun at them, saying "Buh bye" and twirling it, then the explosive going off and blasting the entire group with the chorus kicking in for it. This is a cutscene in most games, but you can pull this off entirely with gameplay by the second level.
Dude, if you haven't already, I think you would love listening to Virgil's theme, Bury the Light, from this game. (DMC5) Such a good ost, and its made by the people who made this one. Edit: Also would like to recommend the music from the anime Attack on Titan, its absolute magic, def should take a listen to it, Hiroyuki Sawano and Kohta Yamamoto made some of the shows best.
DMC5's music is unique in that its combo system is tied into the battle music adding more layers as you go up and down in combat rank with each of the 3 (now 4 with DLC) characters having their own battle theme that plays during combat moments to make the fight more intense as you fighter harder without taking damage.
Amazing video as always Geebz. Cheeky suggestion: "Ludwig the Accursed" and "Ludwig the Holy Blade" from Bloodborne. The two tracks are meant to be played sequentially and tell the story of a man that succumbs to corruption and then tries to regain the humanity he's lost. It's pretty epic.
Hi Geebz, just discovered this channel and been enjoying the gaming ost reactions. I would love to see your take on one of the greatest villain songs of all time: One Winged Angel Rebirth from the Final Fantasy VII remake OST. It's incredible. The villain in the game, Sephiroth is one of the best villains of all time and this track feels like a full on battle with him. Looking forward to hearing more of your expertise on awesome video game music.
@@rpgeebzmusicarcade awesome 😁 the entire Final Fantasy VII OST is full of brilliant evocative songs I'm sure plenty of requests for them will come in due course as you go on this journey.
HI! I'm from Brazil and I LOVE your work, please continue. I activate automatic subtitles to understand what you say through your voice, but when you express it through your body, like at 10:40 we speak the same language, and it's BEAUTIFUL. If possible, react to the God of War 2018 theme, and thank you for your work!
There’s nothing quite like pulling off crazy combos with this song amping up as you go. Especially for your first time through the game. This is a catchy tune for sure.
I usually don’t watch music reaction videos but for some reason I decided to watch yours and I’m really enjoying it! I’ve been subbed for a few weeks now. Enjoying the video game stuff especially but everything else as well. If you get a chance give ‘Ludwig, the Holy Blade’ (from Bloodborne) a listen, it’s a truly amazing piece.
This song has an epic astonishing build up....its probably the most impactful game music i ever heard in this sense. Just incredible. I remember on day 1 of the game's release, this music leaked on YT on somebody's channel and it reached like hundreds of millions of views in a a few hours, it was removed a few days later cuz of copyright but it would be certainly one of the most viewd music videos ever
in my experince, EDM is defined by the drum patterns and the tempo, and sometimes the style of production. my definitions are probably shaky, but to my ears, the four-on-the-floor super regular beat reminds me of a lot of House styles, maybe closer to electro-house, and the syncopated beat with the same tempo sounds like Drum-and-Bass to me.
I would love to hear your reaction to Destiny 2's Gunslinger from the Forsaken DLC OST, it's perhaps my favourite musical piece in all of Destiny, it accompanies the Last stand of the Gunslinger video and frames the scene beautifully - the last fight of a beloved character whose death kickstarts the DLC, on top of an already rich musical library for Destiny. Cayde-6, the Gunslinger, is this cocky, confident, flamboyant character, a Hunter, and they typically embody all things fluent, fast and energetic in the game. I just stumbled upon your channel recently, but I love the reactions you do!
People already did a good job at explaining that in-game this (and the other character specific battle themes) are very much dynamic and ramp up in intensity based on your performance etc. It does get really interesting on a technical level though. I do like digging into game music files and compare them to OST releases, and these battle tracks are so far removed from their fully composed and put together OST release versions. There's many 10 second to 30 second clips these tracks are split up into, each of these clips having 5 or more variations based on intensity. And in game all the layers and individual sections, stingers (for whenever a combat section ends) etc. get smoothly arranged and mixed together at runtime, so rarely any combat situation will provide the exact same level of musical experience. Lots of effort being put in, for both the in-game presentation as well as the standalone OST release. Of course not all games go for this approach, but for Devil May Cry 5 they absolutely went all out with it.
You'd love the entire game Metal Hellsinger its a FPS Rhythm game (Where your shots have to go on beat for best multiplier) game with famous metal bands
This song also has a meme dance that was not actually a dance from the game but it was derived from a screenshot where Nero was in a funny pose with his arms lifted up to his sides like carrying two pigs under his arms and with one leg lifted up and people used this to make animations where they rapidly flipped the image of Nero to make him appear as if doing this silly dance. And it turned into an entire series of animations where the "Devil Trigger" was playing in the background and whole cast of characters doing this dance. It was hilarious and great. Oh those were the good times.
On the topic of the dynamic music people have talked about, that's the reason this is such a long track. Some of the material is used for transitions, so you'll never hear it exactly the same as the OST version. A lot of games use some form of dynamic music, which might be why you're having a hard time tracking down an exact song in game footage. DMC 5 is way more in-your-face about it than most.
I really appreciate your point about video games broadening people's music tastes. I've never really thought about that before, but as a lifelong musician and gamer, it does make a lot of sense to me. I probably have the broadest music taste of anyone I know IRL. Adding my voice to the "Bury The Light" avalanche 😁 Also: I was indeed still here.
This song is used in Cinematics but also when fighting cause the idea of the game is to fight in a very stylish way. You get into the more Fast paced parts of the song the more "Cooler" you are fighting, including not getting hit by enemies, using different attacks and not the same one over and over again, constantly on the offensive and always moving, etc.
U know why I LOVE this channel. Because i know the best music in the entire world will be here. And to have no better man than Geebz break it down for us is like watching the leafs win the cup. Brilliant.
That's to you, my hands hurt again! Hearing the appreciation for this music made me want to play this game again and man, the high octane action of DMCV just destroys my fingers, lol. Glad you enjoyed the music and would recommend Bury the Light along with everyone else.
Now you NEED to watch "Bury The Light" from the same game. There are some connections with the music and lyrics between "Devil Trigger" and "Bury The Light". These songs are all sung from the perspective of the character themselves, which actually tells you a lot of the character from the lyrics themselves. Keep up the good work man!
I always sincerely appreciate when older generation folks are willing and able to sit down and try to understand/enjoy video games as a medium, or at least some aspect them. They are art in summation as well as technical craft, and not nearly enough older-than-I people enjoy them in any significant breadth, especially not those who write them off with such disdain. Thus, this was a refreshing video, and useful as I do have some musical aspirations, and it's useful to have a professional specifically point out, with syntax, aspects of music (I.E. The pads at the start) that I've listened to so many times over. Something that may not have been mentioned regarding Devil Trigger is that each of the main characters represent a sort of theme on their own, especially those who appear over different installments. Dante and Vergil are twins who represent a dichotomy of style but each at the same magnitude. Dante is a lowkey-depressed gay cowboy as a goofy 90s action hero but with a penchant for death metal. He mainly eats pizza and ice cream because no one taught him how to cook and they make him feel good. Despite living in absolutely squalor, he's able to be cool without smoking or swearing a ton, and he always screws with even the fiercest demons. That is, both in rhetoric and action. His themes mainly represent this. Vergil is the opposite. He's clean and precise and cold. He's cool through the absolute P o w e r of his actions and the overall skill he's portrayed with. Of course, he's also lowkey depressed. His main theme is Bury the Light (well requested by now) Lastly, Nero is basically a rebellious punk who was raised in religion, but grew up as an outcast despite having deep bonds with his adopted family. His punkishness is better seen in the first game he appeared in: Devil May Cry 4. Most of his fighting is based on aggression and the leverage of his massive physical strength. The devil symbolism in Devil Trigger are based on the aggressive demonic energy which all three live within themselves as part demon. It represents the ID within them fueled by the selfishness and anger inherent to demons in this universe. The use of the term hunter is based on what all three of them are: Devil Hunters. Although, all three of them are Devil Hunters for different reasons.
You really have to react to Bury the Light. This song is great and I love it but Bury the Light is on a whole nother level. It's the main battle theme song for Vergil who is Nero's half-human/half-demon father and the composer subtly sneaks in little melodic references to Devil Trigger with a different twist to them. Also the two songs are tied lyrically as Devil Trigger is about Nero learning to embrace his devil powers for good while Bury the Light is about Vergil having to abandon his humanity to achieve his own selfish goals.
I feel very comforted with how you equated metal and this type of EDM because thats the type of music i like to gravitate around and when i say it to other people, they look at me weird (metal AND edm ?!?!). But the same type of energy can be found in both genres, they tap in the same aggressivity. Like, dubstep is similar to metalcore and trance is similar to black metal, in my mind anyways. Indeed, dubstep and metalcore got those huge shift in flavor announced by big drops of bass or screams Trance is all about those slight shift into epicness, same with black metal and the tremelo guitar patterns.
Dude you're awesome. I'm really glad I found your channel. I never really gave much thought to the science of music and composition. But the way you explain this stuff really helps educate me. Keep up the good stuff sir.
If I could offer a recommendation I think you could check out the Risk of Rain 2 OST on Chris Christodoulou's youtube channel (it's his name). Particularly ...con lentitud poderosa. I think it would be a good first look into the games music for you. Or The Rain Formerly Known as Purple, my personal favorite.
You should definitely check out some of the tracks from some of the Ace Combat games, for a game that basically surmounts to flying a fighter plane around the games have such captivating and evocative OSTs. I'd recommend 'Megalith Agnus Dei' from Ace Combat 4, 'Zero' from Ace Combat 0 (my personal favourite), Liberation of Gracemeria from Ace Combat 6 or 'Daredevil' from Ace Combat 7. All top class tracks.
I often buy video game soundtracks to relive the emotions I had while playing the game, doing things as boring as driving a car or doing my daily work. It's great that you're giving video game music the room to stand for itself, and (of course) I will also suggest some songs: from the Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance OST: 02. The Only Thing I Know for Real or 05. A Stranger I Remain. And since this channel is not limited to Video Game OST's I highly recommend a track form the genre defining doom jazz ensemble Bohren & der Club of Gore - Grave Wisdom from the album Black Earth.
I really love your reactions, I could definitely recommend "Journey" from the videogame Destiny 2, "The Call" from League of Legends as well as "Stranger" which is probably my favourite song of Dimash 🥰
Loved your reaction to this, you absolutely need to listen to Bury the Light, The theme of Nero's father. You actually hear a leitmotif of Bury the Light in Devil Trigger.
These videos are so good! I love how you can pull some of the themes out of these songs without having knowledge of the IP, goes to show how well these composers understand the properties they are making stuff for. I'm sure you've got this request before but you should definitely make a video for Bergentrückung (Intro) + ASGORE from the Undertale OST. That song is beautiful and it perfectly represents not only the boss fight for the character it's for, but the character himself.
Chaos Overlords - Track 7 This is from a fairly obscure cyberpunk themed turn-based strategy game from 1996. Being a mostly static game, the music was so perfect for it and added immensely to the atmosphere when playing the game. I still have the game CD which I used to just play in the CD player for the soundtrack. It's so unique and I've yet to really hear anything like it, the synths, the arrangements and how the different layers synergize. There are only 8 tracks including the main menu intro theme, and track 7 is my favourite, and most intense.
Loving your video game OST reactions. If you haven't already, you should listen to some of the soundtracks from the Persona video game series. Each Persona game's OST is crafted around a certain music genre. I'd personally recommend Persona 5's opening song "Wake Up, Get Up, Get Out There" and/or "Life Will Change."
The EDM part of this song is clearest Drum'n'Bass and have kinda slow bpm for it's genre. Yet that is astonishing: the genre that is in most cases comes to racing\sports games fits perfectly a slasher game
I found your channel recently and love the reactions! It's great to actually sit down and listen to the music from these awesome games! I think that Metal: Hellsinger is a game almost hand crafted for your reactions. It's a game that released this year and has a very heavy focus on the music, which is, you guessed it, all metal! Not sure if that would be for your metal channel or this one, but I would love to see you react to just about any track from that game! My personal favorites are: Blood and Law, Stygia, and Burial at Night
Subscribed! I've seen your question answered a few times, but I wanted to elaborate perhaps a little more when you asked if the vocals are used in the game. So, this song is used almost to the point of ad nauseum, for nearly every single fight in the game, of which there are many. The fact that it's still a banger even after hearing literally 100's of times later wireless for itself. Some other users have mentioned that the music is dynamic, and that's an accurate description, but I wanted to sort of elaborate. So when a fight starts you're performance in the fight is graded from D to SSS based on factors like not taking damage, timing dodges/counters, and maybe even sneaking in a taunt mid battle. Now, where this is neat is how the music develops more and more as you get into the swing of the fray. Starting at a D rank, as you always do, the track starts more or less as the song does. There a driving, though basic guitar riff and some punchy percussion from the drum, there are the male vocals, but no chorus, and it almost sounds like there's sort of a filter over them as if to mute them somewhat. As you move into C, the female vocals join in, still refraining from a chorus section, and you start to pick up that sort of EDM standard electronic backings that I really don't know how to describe, I'm afraid. The guitar takes a little break and the drums get a little more interesting. B ranking signals the return of the guitar, now starting to shred, accompanying the drums from the last ranking nicely. Leading to a A ranking that turns the EDM elements up about one notch on the dial and serve mostly as a climbing transition to a beat drop for S ranking. This is the big triumphant, "you're kicking so much ass", where the chorus kicks in with that "Bang! Bang! Bang! Pull my devil trigger!" lyric. The guitar takes another tiny break, but the drums really hit their full stride here to back the vocals and electronic elements. SS ranking continues into bridge with the vocals moving from the chorus to that, "Embrace the darkness that's within me" line followed by the guitar returning more or less as they were from A rank. SSS brings us back to the chorus again, and we just sort of continue the victory lap until the combat ends with that little "fake out" you noticed. The really cool thing about this is that the player isn't perfect, so the music can just build, build, build, but then you whoops and take a hit, back down to C rank, building back again. It's so cool and dynamic, I can't think of any other games that do it quite like this.
Definitely look at more from this series Each game has quite an arrangement of awesome songs to hear and they each have distinct sounds going on. I would suggest going to DMC3, Devils Never Cry is a really great main theme and the Vergil Battle 1, 2, and 3 are also great
1. I listen to EDM and can’t pin it either. 2. I haven’t played dmc, but this song is one of my favs and it gives both game intro and character battle theme. First time it comes on it might be specific to the scene, but after often battle music is used for random battles. Boss fight songs can be different but often follows a similar use pattern. Keep these coming!! As a person who played games since I was 5 and is super into making games and game music, hearing these things I’ve noticed over the years put to words in musicians terms is extremely satisfying and educational!
I would really love to see you react to the soundtrack of The Messenger. It is composed by Rainbowdragoneyes, who seems to usually do Metal songs, but what makes the soundtrack so interesting in this case is the fact that every song has an 8- and 16-bit version. In my opinion basically every song in this game is just an amazing masterpiece and a blast listen to.
I recommend reacting to Neon Night from Halo 3 ODST. Quite different from the rest of Halo. I grew up as a very lonely kid, so every time I listen to it it kind of brings me back to those relatively sad times, but ironically also makes me feel joy too because it was thanks to games like Halo that I managed to be happy in some way. I loved exploring the streets of New Mombasa at night while listening to this, but this is just one of hundreds of amazing memories that I have from playing the Bungie Halo games.
Bury the Light is A MUST React! Victor Borba and Casey Edwards do a Phenominal job, and It'll blow your mind I think ^.^ I love listening to your unique takes :D
It's weird what YT recommends sometimes. And it's even weirder, that it happens to be a true hidden pearl of a channel. I'd recommend to look into something less popular and known, but absolutely deserving - Enderal OST, mainly Echo of the Past and Every Day like the Last. The composer of the whole OST is pure genius
I would love to see you react to Bury The Light also. Dancing Mad from Final Fantasy 6 would also be awesome, it's an absolute classic of music in gaming.
I'm tempted to send you down the rabbit hole that is the OST for Persona 5. But a few RL artists you might want to take a listen to: Afro Celt Sound System (world fusion) VNV Nation (primarily EDM, but can get eclectic) Mike Oldfield (varies wildly) The Struts (Rock isn't dead. The kids really are alright.) Libera (Their performance of "Love and Mercy" at the Kennedy Center Honors brought Diana Ross to tears, on national TV.)
Bury the light - Devil May Cry 5 Ludwig the Accursed - Bloodborne Valstrax - Monster Hunter Generations Mechanical Rythm - Xenoblade Chronicles The only thing they fear is you - DOOM Eternal Videogame music is so good!
It would be absolutely sick if you did videos (or tacked them on to these reviews) where you watched a trailer from the source material. It would be cool for you to see the game the music comes from, even if you don't fully grasp what it's all about.
oh shit Geebz has another channel I missed this info some how but if this is what we're doing over here might I *highly* suggest Death March from the recently Released Victoria 3 soundtrack
Oh you should definitely watch the intro cut-scene if you want the visuals associate with this song... It's actually a different mix and yeah it's a masterpiece of over-exaggerated cheesiness, animation and camera work. It's just so ridiculous it's awesome.
For the first three Devil May Cry games you play as the devil hunter Dante. His music backing tracks in combat usually sound a lot more metal. Nero was introduced in Devil May Cry 4 as a younger protagonist that shares the hero role with Dante, you get to play as both of them. So his music sounds a lot more modern, more EDM like you mentioned. It's a cool way to establish the characters and how they pass the torch from the older one to the younger one in the story.

Now you HAVE to react to Bury The Light from this games soundtrack.
Edit: Also would like to recommend the music from the anime Attack on Titan, its absolute magic, def should take a listen to it, Hiroyuki Sawano and Kohta Yamamoto made some of the shows best.
yes i second the Attack on titan themes. they are something else
DMC5's music is unique in that its combo system is tied into the battle music adding more layers as you go up and down in combat rank with each of the 3 (now 4 with DLC) characters having their own battle theme that plays during combat moments to make the fight more intense as you fighter harder without taking damage.
I'm still here, waiting for you to review "Bury The Light" from the same game! Love your videos!
Added!
@@rpgeebzmusicarcade awesome 😁 the entire Final Fantasy VII OST is full of brilliant evocative songs I'm sure plenty of requests for them will come in due course as you go on this journey.
Time for Bury the Light!
You won't regret it~👍
Thank you so much!!
This song has an epic astonishing build up....its probably the most impactful game music i ever heard in this sense. Just incredible. I remember on day 1 of the game's release, this music leaked on YT on somebody's channel and it reached like hundreds of millions of views in a a few hours, it was removed a few days later cuz of copyright but it would be certainly one of the most viewd music videos ever
in my experince, EDM is defined by the drum patterns and the tempo, and sometimes the style of production.
my definitions are probably shaky, but to my ears, the four-on-the-floor super regular beat reminds me of a lot of House styles, maybe closer to electro-house, and the syncopated beat with the same tempo sounds like Drum-and-Bass to me.
if i am wrong, i would love to be corrected by those more knowledgeable than me
also i'm still here!
An excellent soundtrack that I would love to see his reaction to is Shadow of the Colossus (Either the Prologue theme or Opened Way).
Maybe even the track: Sign of the Colossus
A Despair Filled-Farewell is my favourite track. Honestly though the whole Shadow of the Colossus OST is pure gold.
@@yewtewbstew547 Yes, a Despair Filled Farewell is such a good track as well.
Thank you for reaction to Devil Trigger. Lairs there are really good
I'm sure, that you'll love "Bury the Light - Vergil's Battle Theme"!
Wasn't expecting this. Never clicked a video so quickly 😂
Can't wait to hear his thought on Bury the Light, it's probably my favorite song from a video game soundtrack. It's pure motivation
SHOW ME YOUR MOTIVATION!
I am still here indeed!
Thanks for the videos, they're a very "cozy" watch!
DMC 5 is way more in-your-face about it than most.
the brilliance of this one lies in how it dynamically changes intensity based on your 'style' and how good you are performing
I really appreciate your point about video games broadening people's music tastes. I've never really thought about that before, but as a lifelong musician and gamer, it does make a lot of sense to me. I probably have the broadest music taste of anyone I know IRL.
Adding my voice to the "Bury The Light" avalanche 😁
Also: I was indeed still here.
you're great dude, i first saw you checking out dimash and your positivity has kept me for good.
I'm still here, I always stay till the end because I'm here to listen to what you have to say about the song and not the song itself.
Thanks, Kyle :)
U know why I LOVE this channel. Because i know the best music in the entire world will be here. And to have no better man than Geebz break it down for us is like watching the leafs win the cup. Brilliant.
Can't say how much I appreciate all you do to describe what makes these pieces so special!
That's to you, my hands hurt again! Hearing the appreciation for this music made me want to play this game again and man, the high octane action of DMCV just destroys my fingers, lol. Glad you enjoyed the music and would recommend Bury the Light along with everyone else.
There are several awesome metal covers on TH-cam by very talented artists, which also confirm that it works phenomenal.
This one was really fun to go through with you! Loving your reactions! Please keep doing what you do :) You are amazing!
His main theme is Bury the Light (well requested by now)
Lastly, Nero is basically a rebellious punk who was raised in religion, but grew up as an outcast despite having deep bonds with his adopted family.
Absolutly requiesting "Bury The Light" from DMC 5, it's a Banger
Dude you're awesome. I'm really glad I found your channel. I never really gave much thought to the science of music and composition. But the way you explain this stuff really helps educate me. Keep up the good stuff sir.
Loved your reaction - would love to see you react to more Casey Edward tracks - specifically "Vacant Surrender" and "Bury the light"
I would absolutely love to see your reaction to “Bury the light” as well. Such an amazing track in my opinion! Been loving the reactions!
Absolutely awesome reaction dude 😅😅😅
YES YES YES 🎉🎉🎉 FAV ! Devil’s Never Cry, please ! ❤
BURY THE LIGHT!!
The song Fraquadelic by Pspiralife. And also Liquid nails by Pspiralife.
It would be interesting to see how a composer reacts to this.
Chaos Overlords - Track 7
This is from a fairly obscure cyberpunk themed turn-based strategy game from 1996.

LittleVMills did a metal cover of this, as well as a collaboration cover with richaadeb that I think is right up your alley!
You can actually hear it for yourself if you search "Dynamic Devil Trigger D-S rank". Might be more useful than my layman description of it, lol.
Gonna have to go with the wave and request "Bury the Light" as well, it's got a whole wave of emotions with it
Definitely look at more from this series
Each game has quite an arrangement of awesome songs to hear and they each have distinct sounds going on.
I would suggest going to DMC3, Devils Never Cry is a really great main theme and the Vergil Battle 1, 2, and 3 are also great
I'm joining the chant: BURY THE LIGHT! BURY THE LIGHT! BURY THE LIGHT! BURY THE LIGHT!
I'm still here!
Love the videos
I live how you explore video game ost's it speaks to my soul
Came in late to watch this, just saw your break down and had to say: I'm still here!
Urgot, The Dreadnaughts theme from League of Legends is really cool
I took a lot of inspiration from this series, I love the melodies mixing together!
'I'm still here'. Nice video to watch, I strongly suggest to react to "Bury The Light" - one of the greatest game track ever!
Makes me wanna finally play the game! Always wanted to play but that soundtrack seems kickass!
Victor Borba and Casey Edwards do a Phenominal job, and It'll blow your mind I think ^.^
I love listening to your unique takes :D
It's weird what YT recommends sometimes. And it's even weirder, that it happens to be a true hidden pearl of a channel. I'd recommend to look into something less popular and known, but absolutely deserving - Enderal OST, mainly Echo of the Past and Every Day like the Last. The composer of the whole OST is pure genius
I would love to see you react to Bury The Light also. Dancing Mad from Final Fantasy 6 would also be awesome, it's an absolute classic of music in gaming.
I'm tempted to send you down the rabbit hole that is the OST for Persona 5.
But a few RL artists you might want to take a listen to:
Afro Celt Sound System (world fusion)
VNV Nation (primarily EDM, but can get eclectic)
Mike Oldfield (varies wildly)
The Struts (Rock isn't dead. The kids really are alright.)
Libera (Their performance of "Love and Mercy" at the Kennedy Center Honors brought Diana Ross to tears, on national TV.)
Modern Warfare 2 2009 has some great music everyone would love to hear them again
Bury the light - Devil May Cry 5
Ludwig the Accursed - Bloodborne
Valstrax - Monster Hunter Generations
Mechanical Rythm - Xenoblade Chronicles
The only thing they fear is you - DOOM Eternal
Videogame music is so good!
I haven't played the game but i can feel the vibe i might get from it
Check song Devil May Cry 3 OST - Devils Never Cry
This song is an icon of the Devil May Cry game series. One of the best in its music genre (no joke).
I would really love if you review the entire Castle Crashers OST! A lot of amazing songs in that!
still here and listening brother
A video on the themes of the different Tomb Raider games would be cool
should've listen ro Bury The Light. NEVER played devil may cry but as soon as i heard it for first time i LOVED it. Absolute masterpice
I really recommend ‘Deference for Darkness’ on Halo 3 ODST Soundtrack!
I AM THE STORM THAT IS APPROOOOOOOOACHING!
Without reading the rest of the comments so sorry if this was already said, this song’s impact is felt more when watched with its accompanied scene.
I'm still here 😁 thanks for sharing your thoughts on devil trigger.
