No dude, he's the reason I practice 4x2 hrs/day. You gotta crawl before you walk, regarding everything in this world! Accept this and it will set you free without worry and anxiety in every new skill you come by. Mastered the fretboard in 30 days, 4 hrs/day 5 days/week.

@@OkeOke-zs5ju Mixed feelings honestly. I began with an aggressive approach, It worked for approx 2 months. Then I created my own practice routines and material that I grabbed here and there online that would benefit my goals which are being able to identify notes and scales so I can jam/express to any genre of music and songs. So far so good. I literally can't stop thinking about playing guitar whenever I can't play. I even started having these lucid dreams playing guitar and feeling my fingers pick the strings and playing these songs I know perfectly. I want this skill to play so bad I suppose. But I had to cut down my practice time down to 60 min a day with a 15 min break every 30 min. Then based on what mood I'm in I just pick up the guitar anytime during the day and jam to backing tracks and use my material with scale charts and progressive chords to force my mind to place the dots on the fret-board. My pinky and ring-finger is struggling, they're weak, so I got this finger trainer which I use while watching netflix, pinky getting ripped! HAHA. Main goal is to experiment with melodies and finding my "own" personal sound. Which apparently is a sad whining lofi blues jazz with a touch of metal, strange huh. I guess i'm a person with a lot of unresolved depression and sadness. Funny how an instrument like the guitar expresses the inner feelings so well and accurate. TBH using the scales with notes on them have been the key to memorize the notes on the fretboard. Discipline in the start up phase is another key, don't stop playing once you've started, you'll forget everything otherwise. Keep it up and find what motivates you to play. So now I bought some of Ochaions tabs and started with "careless whisper", a hard song, but I never thought it was this easy to learn, I'm a quarter into the song and everything just makes sense. The speed and transition between slides and notes are the biggest obstacle. So I use a metronome to increase my speed progress. Ear training comes for free when you jam and find notes in scales that reminds you of bits from a song you've heard and everything just fits inside your mind. Sorry for the long write-up, I suck at narrowing replies. Just ask my lawyer, poor guy. Anyway, I guess you play as well?

@@AngryDonutGuy Lol I never read a comment this long but very interesting. I just started 2 weeks ago and I’m playing like 2-3 Hours a day starting to get into theory and ear training. My whole life has suddenly changed because I have this one BIG hobby now lmao. Also my music taste is very different now. In this 2 weeks i managed to learn a few chord like A D E Am Em Dm C and G but some chord changes are still a little rough so that’s what I’m trying to improve right now. How old where you when you started?
