    Great content bruh. USB4/TB4 works just fine for eGPUs on these 7000 series APUs. Lower bandwidth yes, but it works just fine. Tested 6700XT, 6800XT and 3090Ti with TB3 and TB4 docks, and they work. The bottleneck will always be the APU so it's fine especially at these lower TDPs. Also these APUs give diminishing returns at higher TDPs anyway for the sake of battery life and thermal headroom in these small form factors. Now If we are talking full fat CPUs at higher TDPs paired with these eGPUs then we are having a different conversation.

    Actually Ally only supports egpu over their proprietary connector, iirc. This should support egpu over TB4. So instead of "disappointing" it's actually better..

    • @games_revealed

      I wouldn't say better because USB4 doesn't have as much bandwidth than Oculink or similar connectors

    Not a deal breaker for someone who already has a gaming rig, the deal breaker for me is the customer service. From what I've read Ayaneo and Onexplayer CS is not great and it takes too long for repairs.

    • @games_revealed
      @games_revealed  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yeah, AYANEO and ONEXPLAYER support is not great and the amount of new devices does not help either.

    I hear their customer service is atrocious and you have to pay for shipping back to China for any warranty work if you’re lucky to get an RMA if that’s true hard pass for me.

    This can support egpu with it's thunderbolt 4 connections. It's no different to the steam deck or ally in that regard

    • @games_revealed
      @games_revealed  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      AMD APUs don't use thunderbolt as it's an Intel propriety tech, and the deck doesn't support eGPUs. Hopefully the Steam Deck 2 will.

      @@games_revealedUSB4 supports eGPU. Check your facts

    • @games_revealed
      @games_revealed  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The Steam Deck does not have USB4 so no eGPU (technically), ONEXFLY (AMD APU) does not have thunderbolt and does have USB4. Those are the facts. The ONEXFLY should support eGPUs, but my case is the Oculink is better for it.

    • @AlexBurns1
      @AlexBurns1 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@games_revealed AHH thanks for the information as always dude. Thanks for clarifying things for me. ETA Prime has a video using an egpu with a Onexplayer 2 over USB 4 (so I'd hope the onexfly has the same capabilities?) so you can use a egpu that way with good performance, yes it's not oculink but performance is still decent and I wouldn't personally dismiss egpu through USB4.
      Though I wouldn't recommend going out and buying that setup specifically because of price and performance but if you already have the hardware then yes it's good

    • @jpnzo2k12
      @jpnzo2k12 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @AlexBurns1 if you google USB4 you will see it supports thunderbolt. This is YT so i cant screenshot here. My biggest gripe is he definitively said no egpu support which led to someone asking me if it supports egpus at all

    • @Zandercode
      @Zandercode ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @justswitched8841 This. 60Hz with VRR > 120Hz no VRR. Without VRR, there's not much point in such a high refresh rate if you can't actually hit 120fps, since then you just have microstutters galore and will need to lock it to 60Hz anyway.
