This guitar sounds amazing for the small size. Nice mixture of playing styles to show us what it can do! I recently played an Eastman E20OM and really liked it.
This model is very popular here in Korea ever since well-known singers in Korea used this model and complimented about it. I got this model recently and I really like it. As you said, it has a very good sound for the price. Also the sound is very unique like the well-made varnish finish. Thanks for the good sound sample
Nice demo. I own this and its big brother, the e10ss/v, which is basically the same guitar but as a slope-shouldered dreadnaught, so a bigger sound and better strummer, and both are just wonderful instruments. I often think that, if I ever really stripped down, I'd own those two and my old Yamaha laminate to take to campfires and other places where I wouldn't want to worry about my guitar. The sound is beautiful (especially if you love mahogany back and side guitars, which I do), and it plays like a dream.
Bought one mint condition for $750.00 a few years ago and now they sell for north of 1300... Great guitar, great tone, and yes better than a Gibby L-00
Just got one. Loud and angry as fck. Very percussive. Mean bass response. Great articulation. Easy to play. And if you don't mind the used look its a beauty.
This is honestly one of the few guitars that I kind of wish I did not let go. Might have to hunt another one of these down or trade for it again. Congrats on an awesome guitar.
@@acousticmusicnthings thank you. I tried quite some Eastman... men. Even bought a dreadnought and a slopeshoulder but returned both. When I held this small one I was hooked from the start. The shop has almost every Eastman in store and tried 3 different of this model and kept the mightiest one. Now it's mine.
Hi, I just found your channel and subscribed. I loved your demo. of this guitar! ...so many interesting samples of songs. The guitar sounds so nice, I can't imaging needing anything better. Anyway, I would love to know the name of the tune, and artist at the 5:28 mark. It sort of sounds like a Brazilian piece. I heard it played in another guitar video, but never found out the name of it. Keep up the nice playing, and I am going to look for your demo. of the E20 OO.😊
I own and love a couple of Eastmans, but something seems to have happened to this brand that has practically destroyed its attractive prices. I got a Gibson L-00 walnut used but mint for 1000 bucks recently. Haven't seen this Eastman anywhere for under 1400. It's nice that their quality is being appreciated, but to me it was always a "great for the money" brand, not a "you get what you pay for" brand.
Prices for all guitar brands have increased dramatically the past few years, not just Eastman. And honestly, even at $1,500 ish, you're not going to find a better guitar. I also have an Eastman E2D which is all solid with cedar top and sapele sides. Got it for $600 and it still sounds better than some guitars that are 4x it's price. So there are still steals to be had with Eastman.
@@sasquatchlife8836 You're right. I bought both of my Eastmans used. In the case of the electric, a T64/v, it doesn't matter because it's slightly relic-ed anyway, and in the case of my 12-string jumbo, I got lucky with a mint condition instrument. Both are absolute killers and mainstays and I'm happy I own them. Got each of them for around 1000$, a couple of years ago. Seems impossible now. I don't think I ever went over 1200 bucks for any guitar.
Really depends on the Eastman model you're looking at. This one is more of a Gibson sounding and feeling guitar, but the OM and dreadnought models from Eastman would definately make for a great Martin alternative. From the other sounds samples that I've listened to, I would certainly try to play both and save some money by going with the Eastman if that is your goal. I'd stick with their higher end models of OM or Dread though, the really budget friendly ones will not get you closer to the sound you're looking for.
I have an Eastman T386SB. I love it. I have been considering picking up an Eastman 00 type acoustic. The one thing about this particular model that I can't live with is the nut width and string spacing at the saddle. I need/want wider. Does Eastman make a similar guitar with 1 3/4 or 1 13/16 nut width?
I sold this one shortly after I made this video. One of the few guitars in the last couple years I keep thinking about purchasing again. And I still owe on the Atkin L36. You definitely cannot go wrong with this model. In my opinion, it is one of the best bang for buck guitars on the market.
@@acousticmusicnthings I just wish it had a 1 3/4” nut width. It would be the perfect guitar imo. That Atkin L36 is a really cool guitar forsure. Have you seen the new Iris MS-00?
I like it and it sounds pretty good. How is the fretboard is it done right? Can't wait for you to buy the E2000ss/v to get your report on it. I been looking at Eastman guitars because it seems that it so close in tone however with all the upgrades for less. Seems it might be a pretty good deal. Also could you if its in your skill to give the guitar some fingerstyle play just to hear it that way. Thanks!
I’m pretty sure the whole last half was without a pick. Thank you and yes the fret board was very nice! Hopefully I’ll have the e20 version in a week or so. Stay posted!
Really depends on how you set it up but in general shorter scale guitars are going to be easier to play due to lower string tension. Action is how you set it up but this one was set up pretty good out of the box. Honestly after all the guitars I’ve had I still have nothing but good things to say about this model and if the opportunity to own one again pops up, I’d take it.
@@acousticmusicnthings thanks! I am looking for an acoustic, but don't know much about them, as I play electrics. Maybe that is the reason why I am looking mostly for small bodies as well
The quality/sound of guitars these days have feminising returns after §2000. I know we accoustic players love the top end guitars but you do not get any improvements after $3500 you will get different qualities to the sound but these are a personal thing. 99% of the people would not hear or care about the difference. If you got the coin to buy your §12;000 beloved guitar go for it.

Wow......I am lucky enough to own this same guitar........ your demonstration is one of the best and most diverse styles I've ever heard.
This sounds absolutely amazing! Good job.
Thank you! I really appreciate that!

Great playing and the guitar sounds great 👍

Hey thank you. That song is called Sign. First song on Eric Clapton Unplugged album.
Thank you so much! I will check it out.

That Clapton tune was nice. 😊👍 Signe, by name I think... Would you say that an Eastman guitar would be a good alternative to a Martin?

Check out their parlors or 12 fret 00 models. They all have wider nuts. I think the single 0 or parlor has 1 13/16
Been looking at these as a cheaper L-00 alternative. I’d love to have a Waterloo but they’re way too expensive currently.

Playability question: is this guitar more on the low action slinky side, or is it one of those harder to play acoustics?
