How are you not hitting the reef and like smacking your head, getting cuts, or ripping your fins off? I don’t understand how people feel so comfortable surfing when it’s this shallow over reef. I grew up surfing beach break, and I was in for a rude awakening when I moved to Santa Cruz for a semester. I remember getting caught inside on table rock during mid tide at Steamers. I was literally in 6 inches of water on my hands and knees on this huge rock while a hurling 6 foot left landed on my head. Nat Young was on the wave and did an air like there wasn’t this massive rock sitting inches below the surface. I don’t get it.
