I have five Kaweco Sport and one Perkeo all with ‘F’ nibs and love them. They are the smoothest ‘out-of-the-box’ writing nibs , and are great EDC pens. I got the piston-filler for Christmas and looking forward to writing with it. Thank you for your review!
That’s a cool pen.. love that they kept the piston the same size as the sport. I recently wrote with several nib sizes for the first time, at Atlas Stationers. Great store, great staff.
I have one Kaweco I got probably about 7 years ago. I didn't have a need for a pocket pen so much, but I'll dust it off some time and give it another try.
I got my first one from a bespoke post box, and it is a M nib, so I never really used it. So far, I am really liking the piston version, so it might become a pocket pen, or I might even add an aluminum piston for a little more durability for pocket carry.
I generally do not like posting pens however I did purchase one Kaweco, the iridescent pearl with M nib. I love the color. Still not sure I love the pen. I would like to get the Olivine Kaweco as I luuuuuuuv green in all tones! And that ink is nice! I had not really paid much attention to the new Pilot inks but 🤔 thanks for the nice video!
That olivine Kaweco looks great in person. If I end up really liking using the Kaweco, I could see getting more in the future. The new inks have been great so far, and are definitely worth looking into. Thanks for watching.
I never thought I would buy another Kaweco Sport (already got 2 of them) and the main reason being I don't like posting my pens when I write, but I really like the piston version of the classic sport mainly due to its large ink capacity as compared to cartridge/convertor versions. I got it as a preorder from Cult Pens when it was launched and have been using it since then (inked twice so far).
My birthday is coming up next month, and I'm considering either a Kaweco Piston Sport or a Kaweco Brass Sport. I'm worried about how heavy the brass Sport will feel in my hand. I don't have any orange or yellow inks, so I might have to pick some To Ro up.
What was the nib size in your new Kaweco? Also is the ink capacity larger in the piston filler than the traditional sport? I have three Sport Kawecos but the low ink capacity is an bit of an issue. I love the pens but I hate refilling it so often. Especially the pen with my broad nib.
I got an EF nib. Joe from The Gentleman Stationer has a blog post talking about ink capacity here, and I think he says .7ml in a piston. www.gentlemanstationer.com/blog/2024/11/23/kaweco-piston-filler-redux-classic-vs-al-sport-comparison
It’s a great pen. One warning - if you unscrew the nib unit to clean the pen, there’s a silicone o-ring. If it’s not perfectly seated, the pen will leak badly.

I am enjoying the piston so far, so hopefully yours is great as well.

I want to make it up to visit Atlas at some point for sure.

Love that ink color. It’s sold out everywhere I check. My kaweco sport skips when writing. Think I’m gonna try the gold nib. Awesome video.
Gentleman stationer has To-Ro in stock. www.gentlemanstationer.com/curated-inks-and-refills/pilot-iroshizuku-fountain-pen-inks
@ just ordered it thanks.

In general, I hate dealing with cartridges, so anything piston or vacuum will always be my preference.
Happy 2025 🎉
I use a Kaweco Sport V16 piston filler from 1960s nib 14K OB 😊
Oh man, an OB nib would be a water hose for me, but that is cool to have that vintage pen for sure.

You might be able to compromise and get the Kaweco aluminum piston as a somewhat mix of the two?
