I am American. However, I think it is objectively true that crossing at 0:49 is a dangerous decision on any grade crossing. One train can hide another, “Un train peut en cacher un autre” as they say in French-speaking countries. In this case, the two trains were 2 minutes apart and no problem resulted. However, I worry that could have ended very badly.
