Now that is a nice setup. In your experience are 24 channels enough for a hybrid setup featuring an analog console? I am currently looking into getting a console for myself due to the pandemic limiting the amount of events in the year, causing me to not be able to train/keep the hearing and mixing capabilities up to spec. I am used to working in a live environment so i cannot really tell, sry.
I use the console for it signal routing mostly, the bus(s) and matrix. send signal out and sum it back in. I started and still mix in a 16 channel format (only 16 D/A converters) but when I started returning things like parallel comp and reverbs from gear, I felt like I had more control over what I was trying to do. i see it as a big summing box so I would say look for as many channels as you anticipate having to sum at once - analog or digital - that fits your workflow. TBH I started in live music and have always just liked faders under my fingers and that's part of it too. Thanks for the question sry bout the long winded response
