To check if a sewing machine can use a twin needle follow these steps: 1. Look at your sewing manual for information about needle types and accessories to see if twin needles are mentioned. If a twin needle came with your machine that is a good indication that it will be compatible. 2. See if the needle plate has a wide enough opening for a twin needle since the twin needle is wider than a single needle. 3. Does your machine include a presser foot that has an opening wide enough to allow a twin needle to pass through it? 4. Does your machine support two spools of thread with a way to mount to second spool or bobbin? 5. Some twin needle stitching uses decorative stitching. Be sure that your machine can support adjustable stitch widths for decorative stitching before trying any. 6. Contact your machine’s dealer or manufacturer with the make and model for confirmation. 7. If everything seems good to proceed, test a twin needle on a scrap, follow your machine’s instructions and go slowly. That way you can see if there are any issues. 8. If all goes well then have some fun using the twin needle!
Thank you SO much for this twin needle hemming technique! I’ve never used the twin needle that came with my machine because I’ve been waiting for my friend to teach me how to use it. Thanks to you, I’ll be hemming my first pair of pants using that needle for the first time without having to bother my friend! I’m so excited! Thanks again!❤❤❤❤❤
As a very basic sewist with a basic old machine this and all these videos really upgrade my skill level and also confidence to try some things, mostly repairs.

Generally, unless the bobbin loads on the side, it usually is compatible for straight stitch twin needle
