    I really enjoy your narration! A lot of other channels are so hyped up and includes too much extraneous information. Love your approach!

    thanks for the video; I think you did great but I agree with the other comment that personally don't recommend using any chemicals that strong in general for environmental health reasons; someone else suggested more heat to help peeling, so I'll probably try that.

    • @AlexBeras

      Yeah! The chemicals are extremely harsh!!

      @@AlexBeras I just spent all day with a knife just to chip the plastic off (and veneer; I had all the veneer, but it came off with the plastic too much, and I had a split horizontally, so I kinda wanted a fresh surface anyway. I want to say Burled Walnut or something is this veneer type? thanks again for the video though- if nothing else it made me not be lazy.

    Polyurethane bicomponent layer is the way to go. And needs some sanding before

    • @AlexBeras
      @AlexBeras  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Walkin' Droid it was a ton of sanding!

      fidel delgado Thank you!! The product is- (Rock Miracle: Since 1936- Paint & Varnish Remover) Id say wear a mask while using the stuff because it’s potent, but it seems like masks are here for a while! 😂🤷🏾‍♂️

      It is much better to use a heat gun to soften the old laquer finish. Paint stripper can loosen the adhesive of the veneer
      Plus the veneer stakes up the stripper and will cause the new clear finish to come loose. This is how not to refinish veneer. When done right the new finish will flow out without bubbles or discoloration. That was caused by stripper absorbed in the veneer.

    How many layers of clear quote are required?

    • @AlexBeras

      I did about four coats. But I also let it cure in between. I then wet sanded and polished to get a flatter glass like finish.

    I think you could have put sanding sealer before the poly.
