I wrote this song in 1991 while serving pancakes at a restaurant in Tulsa. I tried it for the first time at the Tulsa Vineyard Church and it became our song. Teen Mania Ministries started singing it and a few of my other early songs everywhere they went. In 1995, a friend of mine recorded it on one the Touching the Father's Heart/Vineyard projects. Many revivals around the world helped to spread the song. I finally got to record it myself on "Let the river flow" Hosanna CD released in 1997. It was inspired by Ezekiel 47.
+Darrell Evans We are so blessed to have been able to capture these songs that evening! It was a total God Thing! He has blessed many from these songs. You can tell by the amount of hits and the genuine comments! Keep up the good work brother! Gary
Darrell, here in Brazil I sing your song wherever I go. Many people are blessed through this song. I translated to Portuguese and minister since 1997. Brazil knows you . Please do not stop to compose their beautiful songs. Carlos Feitoza.
Darrell, you used to com into Cityplex Towers bookstore downstairs in the mid 90's when you were leading at Open Bible over in Jenks. I'd sell you orange Juice. This was during the "Renewal Services" that were going on in the 90's. You invited me to one of those services and I came. I wasn't expecting anything beyond a great time of worship. But I ended up on the floor with about half the congregation. Only time that's ever happened to me. A watershed moment. Thanks for using your gift.
What a voice and range. So much freedom and anointing. I miss these types of songs and worship leaders. He was truly a fire starter and blessing to my generation.
Darrell... This Live Acoustic version with some light echo.. I mean your sound and vocal changes! This is by far The best version of LTRF This is Epic! So Good Darrell! God Bless
I wrote this song in 1991 while serving pancakes at Village Inn in Tulsa, OK. I led worship at the Vineyard there. It wasn't until my friend recorded it on a Vineyard project that it was published in 1995. It appeared on many other recordings and I finally got to record LTRF for the CD "Let the river flow" with Darrell Evans for release in 1997. I later did an acoustic version like this on "Darrell Evans Live/Acoustic". Thankful for this song.
I heard this song when i was 5 yrs old when we still used an old karaoke speaker, every morning we played a tape of an album "let the river flow" and i still remember this song til now that i am married, your song inspired me a lot to praise God more, i really like the lyrics of each song you wrote♥️
We sing "Let the River Flow" at church with the intro sounding like the beginning of the 1970's song "Listen to the Music"....it gives it a country song feel....wonderful worship song!
We have never done this song at Hosanna Church in Oxford Maine. HOWEVER, twice in prayer this very week (in 2020!) as I have been participating in the "10 Day Upper Room Global and national Prayer Event", the Holy Spirit has clearly said to me "Let the River Flow", and the chorus to it has been going through my mind. I am going to learn to play and sing it ASAP, and start singing it everywhere and teach it to our church Worship Team. -There is still an anointing from God on this song!
I loved the way you ended the song on your CD... "Revive us again Oh Lord, Give us the Spirit of Evangelism, that we'd would have the passion of Christ. That we'd be moved with your compassion, that we'd see the lost through your eyes Oh Lord, the ones you died for. Hear our prayers Lord... Let your river flow"
I saw Daryl Evans in Lakewood Ohio, WOW can he sing. What a powerfull voice, given by the Lord God. Daryl doesn't even need a microphone He is so powerfull vocally.... And He always changes up Songs live_ wherever the Spirit takes him he follows 1000 THUMBS UP
Great song! I heard first in 2000-2001 when full of the Holy Ghost - Christ Jesus coming alive in me and changing my heart - I used to ride around some times and sing it over neighborhoods - (not that I can sing.. LOL, but in the car when one is alone and singing to loud music with all your heart! :) Once after singing along to your song, God led me to a 5 or 6th youth hanging it out - I witnessed to them and got out of the car and led them in prayer. Keep praying for them.
Your song from the Holy Ghost got deep in my spirit and God did just that for a time in me.. moved me with compassion, let me see the lost through his eyes many times, and at times heard my prayers and some came to Christ all because you heard Him give you this song -these words. There is nothing so powerful as the changes in us when we let him lead and we listen to him and He changes hearts. I know this song must have way many more testimonies- and truly did bear much fruit!
Darrell, that's an awesome story! I write just about anywhere I am. I will often write worship songs while working or driving in my car. Anyway, this is one of the greatest worship songs of all times, thanks!
Keep me in your prayers as I will be praying for you to get more of these songs! I see how God used this CD- on the transformation videos, girls at Church creating dance to We will Embrace- Let the River flow for compassion and evangelism. Do it again Lord for your Glory Jesus!
I see you are going to be in Topeka, KS in my neighborhood this weekend - July 29, 2012 Sunday 10:30 @ Community Church. See you there! Let the River flow again in my heart Lord!
@DannyLovesOregon Actually the ORIGINAL version was released on the "Halleujah Glory" CD produced by Vineyard Music Group. Shortly after that Hosanna released their version on their album "Let the River Flow".

I guess mine don't count
Something sounds odd about this version- tempo changes and strumming oddities I can’t quite pinpoint- still love the song
