"เพลงชาติสหภาพโซเวียต" เป็นเพลงชาติอย่างเป็นทางการของสหภาพสาธารณรัฐสังคมนิยมโซเวียตประกาศใช้อย่างเป็นทางการในวันที่ 15 มีนาคม 1944 ในระหว่างสงครามโลกครั้งที่สอง หลังการปฏิวัติสังคมนิยมในรัสเซียโดยพวกบอลเชวิคเมื่อเดือนตุลาคม ค.ศ. 1917 (พ.ศ. 2460) ในปีต่อมา ได้มีการใช้เพลง L'Internationale (หรือในภาษาอังกฤษ The Internationale) ซึ่งเพลงประจำของการปฏิวัติสังคมนิยมสากลเป็นเพลงชาติรัสเซีย เนื้อร้องฉบับภาษารัสเซียเป็นผลงานแปลของ อาร์คาดี้ ยาคอฟเลวิช ก็อตส์ เมื่อปี ค.ศ. 1902 (พ.ศ. 2445) เพลงนี้ได้ใช้เป็นเพลงชาติสหภาพโซเวียตที่ก่อตั้งในปี ค.ศ. 1922 (พ.ศ. 2465) และใช้ต่อมาจนถึงปี ค.ศ. 1944 (พ.ศ. 2487) จากนั้นมีการใช้เพลงชาติใหม่ ที่ประพันธ์ทำนองโดย อเล็กซานเดอร์ อเล็กซานดรอฟ และประพันธ์เนื้อร้องโดย เซอร์เกย์ มิคาลกอฟ และ จี.แอล. เรจิสตาน

The "State Anthem of the Soviet Union"[b] was the national anthem of the Soviet Union and the regional anthem of the Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic from 1944 to 1991, replacing "The Internationale". Its original lyrics were written by Sergey Mikhalkov (1913-2009) in collaboration with Gabriyel’ Arkadyevich Ureklyan (1899-1945), and its music was composed by Alexander Alexandrov (1883-1946). For a two-decade interval following de-Stalinization, the anthem was performed without lyrics. The second set of lyrics, also written by Mikhalkov and in which Stalin's name was omitted, was adopted in 1977.
