- After test driving all of the new models, I can tell you that this is the PERFECT car for my driving style. The horsepower numbers almost scared me away, but after driving it, I can tell you, for me, it's the most fun car to drive.

I think I speak for everyone when I say we would love some more video content of that YXZ!
Btw, I subscribed because I’m craving more YXZ riding content like so many other YXZ owners.
A lot of content to come!
Great review ,, Im also a huge yxz fan . In my younger days I raced some motocross with a cr 500. You cannot beat shifting gears for yourself
Me too! YXZ doesn’t get much love. Not many people are into manual transmissions. I actually have the R model (3rd pedal). Nothing like diving into a curve on the trail and dumping the clutch at 10K rpms.
You’ll find quickly the front end is under sprung and the rear is over sprung hence the absolute shit jumping attitudes.
This video was the deciding factor of me buying my yxz. I had always hoped to see more videos on it. Luckily UTV Source finally has some new YXZ content with a new YXZ.
This is actually a great review because it shows it in real action. Looks like a big upgrade over our 2016! When I watch this it just blows me away that people settle for Chinese made CVT systems. We go for rides in Utah and the more HP (Turbos) people put in their CVT SXS's the longer rides are because the more belts that need to be changed. It's getting to the point of 1 per ride. We just do donuts and wait! Great Video!!
Brother, your RZR buddies need to learn how to stop blowing out those belts. I hammer my RZR XP4 to death thru deep mud, rock crawling, hill climbs and everything between. Broke a couple of axles, radius rods, and an A-arm so far, but still on the original belt. My guess is that they do like most people. Put big ass oversize tires on it or just forget to use low gear and BOOM. Then the YXZ guys start foaming at the mouth and doing donuts. Their all pretty good machines and ALL have weaknesses. I have a blast when we have a diverse group and we get a chance to see all the differences and have a hell of a good time doing it. If someone breaks we all pitch in. It's just part of it. Gotta get back to Utah. It's so awesome there.

Moving to Kanab this summer. Planning on buying a YXZ. What part of Utah you talking about?
Hybrid American Dude love the profile pic 😉 👍
Wow finally a utv/sxs video shot the correct way! Thanks for this awesome entry man hope you keep making more let me know if you want more input and I'll put it in the comments :P
Thanks for the input! We have lots of content coming soon including product reviews, ride days, etc.
I totally agree with your reason to buy the YXZ over the RZR. Do a Weller tune...so much more power!
Bought my 2020 from Mark. Harnesses were on the top priority list. When I learned that aftermarket seats expose you to the door latch portion of the steel frame, I decided that leaving the stock seats, combined with a good harness install (Simpson D3s with the Yamaha harness bar brackets), was a safer call, for me. I flashed the ECU w FTECU & added a Graves Ti full exhaust, Method 401s, 30" Carnivores, and a winch. Just put ~400 miles on mine with these mods in SW Utah. I was shocked at how well it handled whoops, and rough desert double track at 60mph+. Car is nimble, engaging, fun to drive, and reliable....gas and go. I have the SS SE with the dual spring shocks...and am very happy not to be upgrading suspension, which is rare ;)
Did you ever try the foot Clutch Version?
Great video! Planning a move from Illinois to Kanab Utah this summer. Planning on buying a YXZ when I get there. Love the technology in it!
Thanks man...😉
I have about 6 hours in a 2019 yxz you are right the seats and belts are the first upgrade I would do. Even just belts first would help. Yamaha has some 4 points.
I have the R with a manual clutch. Way better if you like performace
the most coolest helmet duuuuudeeee!!!!!
Great video and information. Very interest to see the YXZ on the new track.
Great review! I own x3 and love it. I could love me some Yxz too. But I’m gonna love the one I’m with 😏
What camera were you using onboard? Very clear footage!
These are good units but if you plan to jump and ride hard you need a cage upgrade desperately. The stock cage is really bad. My nephew had a relatively low speed tip over, just on it’s side not totally over, and that cage crumpled. I wouldn’t trust it. I know the 19 is a slightly revised one but honestly I wouldn’t jump with a stock cage on any machine.
Excellent Review!!!
Nice!!!! I think I want one. I only wish I had a place like yours to just hop in it and go rippin.
cool video, please share info: camera & settings.
Do you feel the need to fit the turbo kit ?
great stuff dudes. Keep em coming
Thanks man!
Have you tried the new RS1? Which one did you like the most?
Hoping to see another video soon!
great demo thanks
Too bad you never made another video on this YXZ....🥺
plz make another one
Can am X3 I believe is 120 hp N.A. and RZR XP is 110 hp N.A., YXZ 115 hp Yamaha has yet to build the 72" turbo....but they will👍. By the way I have the pwrtune stage 3 and have stage 5 trinity full exhaust and I'm at 136 hp😁
I have 17 ss with trinity 5 and power tune flash, alba air box spacer, alba light flywheel , for not to much $ it rips pretty good in my opinion its the most fun to drive.
Only complaint is that i cant put bigger tiers on without new gearing, i wish i would had waited for 2019
@@danpmatz Hey what's the lowest speed you can go with the light flywheel?? I have the Alba heavy flywheel installed , We ride east coast style trails (creeks ,lots mud, steep hills, tight wooded trails) I can lug down to 4 mph...good when creepin thru rocky creeks....
@@BrianYXZ1000r I just put that on last week and went on a ride over the weekend but I was only riding fastfire roads and fast trails not much creeping I will let you know as soon as I do some tighter trail riding.
There is a spot by camper I have to go slow and I remember I was driving about 7 miles an hour but that wasn't going up in a major Hills or anyting
@@danpmatz 👍
@@BrianYXZ1000r
I actually have some new beadlock Wheels and 28 in Liberty's in the garage I was thinking about getting the heavier flywheel because I know these tires are going to kill low speed
How do you like the heavy flywheel?
Do you feel like they lowered the 1st gear enough to pull a set of 30 inch pure mud tires through thick mud? I read that they lowered it by 16.5%. I'm just not sure if that will be enough.
its actually 24 % but yes with the bigger tires its probably close to 16 %.
Look up Packard performance yxz. They are making like 300+hp
They are making north of 500 on some of their YXZ builds now... Very Impressive machine!!
@@BagpipekilR yes almost 600 on tires.crazy
Nice review! Witch camera and stabilization are you using?
Thanks
Looks animated/ CGI to me...
Looks like Hero 7 stabilized to me. They tend to pixilate the center focal area when moving. Hope they fix it.
How about the talon vs this i can't decide between the 2
No more content on the YXZ?
Really need to let off of the throttle when in the air. Really surprised you didn't break an axle
Thanks!
Do you have any plans to modify the unit
Definitely! We will be building this thing and documenting every upgrade on this channel! 👍
Is the turbo an option from the factory or do ypu have to buy and install by yourself?
Yamaha makes the turbo for it but you can't buy it preinstalled. You can buy the machine then have your dealer install it and keep the factory warranty.
I’m a Yamaha man own lots of Toyz . I don’t understand why they don’t have the 135ish hp power like the Yamaha Viper Snowmobile?!? Or the Sidewinder Turbo in it !? 200+ . Then you have the watercraft with pushing 275-300.!? This SXS only has 115 .?
Where are the reviews for a 2019 yxz 1000r SS SE, GYTR® Full Exhaust System by Dasa Racing, GYTR® Race Cylinder Head Assembly, GYTR® Race Camshaft Set, GYTR® Turbo Kit for YXZ1000R™/SS B5J/H, GYTR® Torque Assist Gear Kit BSJ???????
I’m curious if Yamaha addressed the issue with noise driving while jumping? Looking forward to your review after you modify your jump!
Working on it as we speak. I think the issue is the tuning from the factory. I'm the front is undersprung and the rear is oversprung. I think after we adjust rebound it'll fly very level
And more importantly a build video with testing and real world results as each new part is installed??????????????
I Love The YXZ From A Drivers Perspective. But From An Esthetics Perspective, Need Work..
Turbo that beast
Can you get number-plates on it so you can drive it on the road ???
glad your happy and like it- even im a motorcycle guy to me this shifting and sound is annoying...!? i love those cvts...
Why do so many people do this funny little flick of the fingers when shifting with paddle. It’s half dainty and half decorating a cake or using a paint brush stroke. Which by the way shifting a gear is nothing like any of these actions.
Why are they not putting a low range in these??
More of a race machine honestly, that would just add weight and complexity to the drive train. These are made for hauling ass through the trees or in the dessert. Open fire roads. The viking would be a better unit for cruising around in a low range or mudding. This is the sport bike of the sxs world.
A1 review , i want to buy some karts i ran into your site on google im tryon see if legit
Needs a turbo!
Was that your grandmother driving the entire time man? God dam, if that was you driving you'd know better than to just drive, you'd hit a 25ft jump flip 1/2 way in mid air and land on the roof, directly into a big Osage orange all while not wearing seat belts nor helmets......you'd know that's the only way to succeed on TH-cam buddy lol
By the way tell grandma to slow down a bit and to be respectful
still rides like a spring board wagon...
If you like to go fast, you should have bought an X3 or Turbo S, both are faster and quite frankly better machines. I love Yamaha but they are not to the level of Polaris or Can-Am yet
M Sears Garage
Lol
From razor fan and soon buying a dynamix I would still not get rid of my yxz. Razors or can am just don’t handle turns nearly as good. My buddy just dumped his can am turbo for this. 1450 miles not one issue. I love razors also though 👍
Friend of mine has a '16 YXZ /w Packard Supercharger and Motech ECU/Ignition. It's able to easily keep up with my '16 XP Turbo LT with tune, exhaust, injectors, clutching, etc (200+ crank hp). The thing about the engines in the YXZ is that they have a lot of room to grow both from the factory and from the aftermarket and frankly are much better built than the engines coming from Polaris and BRP. Lastly a lot of it comes down to the driver. Lots of people can be fast in a straight line - give them a track or course and a lot of 'drivers' get handed their asses.
Those can’t turn they don’t have sway bars and the CVT loses a lot of power the yxz can beat the rzr but not the x3 but they are all similar when it comes to speed. Yxz motor comes from a 210hp snowmobile but only has 112hp because they put limiters on it.
I’m not bashing Yamaha, but the fact is the YXZ in many ways can’t compete with Polaris or Can Am. There is more than just speed that Yamaha has issues with on the YXZ. A lot of them were addressed with the 2018 model year. I have an x3 xrc turbo R, I rude with 2 guys with YXZ, several Polaris and the fact is the YXZ just isn’t to the same level yet. I’m considering getting a new YXZ as a second SXS also now that you can see Yamaha fixed some known issues with overheating and the terrible suspension on the YXZ
Blake Hatton
What can’t turn and doesn’t have sway bars? My X3 not only has a sway bar but it rides on rails in the corners.
So ur a yamaha fan boy! Bias review
Mike Stremline why does he have to be a fanboy? He doesn’t like a CVT and the reliability of Yamaha machines are unsurpassed mate. I have a RZR, a CF Moto and my next purchase will be a manual YXZ with a Packard turbo and 4” Portals for the technical crawling.
