@@Mauirunner My folks lived on their sailboat in La Paz Mexico, same latitude as Hawaii. Accessories and bungee, would last 5-10_year's in Marina del Rey Los Angeles 33° latitude.. Wouldn't last barely a year down south. It's said that black line lasts longer in the sun than does white line, I cannot wrap my head around that. All white lines on my boat
And that’s how you rip your tarp to pieces in Hawaii. Our tradewinds is no joke. There’s a reason they give you bungees, it needs to give in high winds, using line will guarantee destruction of the tarp in short order.
