I don't remember the name of it, I don't remember much at all about it, but I just remember playing it on the old Apple computers they had. It was a dark screen, where ducks flew or swam past and I think you had to hit them. Strange what you remember from childhood.

for those who don't know, Ducks unlimited is a Conservation/hunting organization. I worked with them way back in the late 80's early 90's when i worked with a Boat place. I did repair their and they were always looking for dealers (of boats) to do shows with them.
Oh... just had some major flash backs with that first duck hunt game. I think I had it on some random shareware compilation discs in the late 90s. The 90s were indeed magical times.
I'd recommend the Moorhühn franchise. It's the best Duck Hunting experience on PC. Plus, the main theme for Moorhühn 2 was composed by the legendary Jeroen Tel. (Supposedly.)
I once got Golf Resort Tycoon 2 with a t-shirt from Walmart a long time ago. I still don't know what happened to the t-shirt, but the game is actually a good golf tycoon game, and I still have it.

This reminds me of the hunting games I played as a child, most notably the WizardWorks Hunting Expedition Pack. There were also two Browning branded games, an early elk hunting game and an African safari game that's similar in format to this one, except it was more playable.

My favorite is Duck Doom Deluxe, an old fan mash-up from 2004. NES Duck Hunt with a Doom UI overlay and weapons, from knuckles to BFG.
