Thank you Chris Williamson & Hamilton Morris for posing and discussing said topics and perceptions. Perception issues (in my opinion) is the biggest base issue with every topic on this Earth.
Hamilton has been my favorite scientist for many years now. He is a dogged pursuer of knowledge and his unabashed enthusiasm for his chosen field is both fun and educational for his audience. A man who needs to be given a larger platform for his work.
When I was a kid growing up you could buy chemistry sets, electronic sets, telescope sets, etc. at Sears, Woolworths, and so on. Dubious as some of them were, they encouraged children's interest in chemistry. As was everything of that era, it was a hands-on, tactile, analog experience. Today, every other scientific field has an endless variety of starter kits or other means to give children the same hands-on experience, but attempt to put together a small but decent lab and you'll get a visit from the feds. There is zero chance of the chemistry equivalent of a Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, or Elon Musk emerging. Whether or not that is a good thing for society I do not know, but it is a blessing to the oil and chemical industry.

Hamilton’s openness to mainstream criticism is valid and important - both from the scientific community at large and the litany of individuals whom view his work, and his responses are even better.
Hamilton is an inspiration as a human being tbh. I've been left somewhat traumatised by my experience with psychedelic users and being peer pressured with no consideration for my health. Watching his content has helped me reframe those experiences and finally I can look at drugs with a sense of wonder again even if I have learned to be much more cautious in terms of ingesting personally.
I am so glad that both of these men co-exist with us on this moldy wet rock. Beautiful minds, like beautiful meals and beautiful sunsets, make life better!
Wait... this isn't something all people can do? Me and both my brothers used to always give ourselves goosebumps when we were little kids, I've always assumed that was just normal.
I watch a lot of Hamilton Morris interviews, oftentimes I'm left disappointed because he ends up spending most of his time explaining to the interviewers things he has said a million times before. That was not the case here, you clearly did your research and asked thoughtful questions and provided actually new and interesting talking points. Thanks so much for that!! This is my first time seeing your channel, but I'll definitely check more of it out!
As much as I enjoy the travels and discoveries brought to us by Hamilton Morris, I don’t care what he thinks. I care how he thinks. Occasionally I’ll find myself listening to a worthwhile discussion and one will ask the other, “How do you think about...” I can’t not smile.
Hamiltion is the best at explaining this type of stuff, and he is right there is no material on Chem. IF he did a series in Chemistry explaining everything from the start to how to start. I would be into chemistry NOW!
LSD, Mushrooms, and MDMA have made me more spiritual and loving in so many ways. Have you noticed how many people have speed or designers claiming their MDMA? I think the rave movement scared the powers because it was happiness. Pure empathy and that isn't good for the agenda. It's so rare in the midwest
rave culture before it was commercialized as whole was very special showed we dont need protecting, told what to wear, told who too idolize, what to think via all these algorithms ect...- that scared them for sure. . . .shame the powers at be scheduled x so quickly. mainly BIDEN was responsible. BUT truth always rises up and it will be cleared and back in action where it belongs. As all powers really accomplished was creating a blackmarket and causing more deaths and miss-doses all on their shoulders.
I am a chemist. Hamilton is right everything in nature is chemicals, the problem are xenobiochemicals, chemicals that we created that life does not know (they are new to life forms). I think the chemofobia is developed from a subconscious understanding that these xenobiochemicals are corespsonible for disease development. Which I understand and agree with. Addendum: ALL patented drugs are per definition xenobiochemicals, you cannot patent naturally present chemicals...
This is simply false The fact that something exists in nature doesn't make it better Many chemics from plants and animals are very lethal even though they have existed in nature for millions of years. Many synthetic "new" chemicals have no effect and pass through the body without even interacting with anything Many synthetic chemicals have postive effects on the body Just because something is synthetic doesn't change its properties Synthetic and chemicals made in organisms function according to the same rules In addition "Xenobiochemicals" or as they are really called xenobiotics aren't always man made. If I consume mescaline produced by plants it's also considered xenobiotics since it isn't produced by me and isn't part of my expected uptake. Edit:I changed "smoked DMT" to "consumed mescaline" since we produce DMT in very small quantities
Overall gratefulness and graciousness, as well as a general appreciation for the beauty of life, are some of the lasting effects they've had on me; a true blessing, my trips have been for me... ... especially the bad ones😉
thank you so very much for all your difficult work . you are a very important person in the psychedelic movement . i hope that society can come to grips with reality .
As always, Hamilton is well spoken and highly informative. Thank you for your dedication towards understanding psychoactive substances! Cheers from Denmark!
Consciousness can't be understood or characterized, but you can have direct unitive experience with it through the regular practice of meditation. Consciousness, the whole of creation, the source of all being, absolute reality, or whatever you want to call it. Wish more scientists would take up the practice. They seem deeply confounded by something that's been explored throughout the ages and written about quite powerfully and lucidly.
Hamilton quoted nearly fully Terence McKenna in the first clip cut from the podcast. Thank you, Hamilton, from the bottom of my heart for continuing the work of the priest/pysician in its most honorable way.

Love podcasts with Hamilton. Never boring, and I think about his talks alot. Must say he has grown up, if you watch his first podcasts like the one with the mosquitoes are hilarious now.
I want to know what substances Hamilton is thinking about taking but hasn't because of potential harm etc... For me, it's always been Deliriants. That entire class scares me so much, but I fear my curiosity will get the better of me some day.
If you ever decide to try a deliriant, I suggest starting with an amanita muscaria (fly agaric) extract from a reputable source. It's the only psychoactive substance from that psychopharmacological category I've ever personally tried, but friends have also tried datura and heroic amounts of nutmeg, and I've inferred from their experiences that amanita muscaria is the most "gentle" of common deliriants. However, it's still ludicrously unpredictable as deliriants generally are; my two experiences felt like two entirely different drugs! Be sure to have a sitter. Also... don't expect it to be "fun". It can certainly be interesting, even fascinating, but it will most likely be unpleasant.
Oh boy, another person that thinks that drugs are the solution to all of the world's problems. So if that is really the case why didn't we stop all wars and end world hunger after the 60's?

Idk if I would call $100,000,000 contract a waste of time but I agree that this is a phenomenal podcast.
Yup. This show, and Lex's podcast are the new rogan for me recently.
Listening to Hamilton is soooo relaxing
Listening to this man while being stoned is so profoundly pleasant and thought-stimulating.
Hamilton reminds me of a grown version of the kid from Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs and I love it
That was my favorite book as a kid . Holy crap I forgot about it. The giant pancakes and stuff
I am so glad that both of these men co-exist with us on this moldy wet rock. Beautiful minds, like beautiful meals and beautiful sunsets, make life better!
My acid trip, gave me the ability to give myself goosebumps on demand!
Mind over matter, baby!
😮 you're almost a fucking superhero 🎉🎊🎉🎊
JK😁
I was able to turn the stars off and on lol
Wait... this isn't something all people can do?
Occasionally I’ll find myself listening to a worthwhile discussion and one will ask the other, “How do you think about...”
I can’t not smile.
You really stepped it up with this one man. Great job!
Thanks Bern. Called in a favour from Ms Peterson for this one.
Hamiltion is the best at explaining this type of stuff, and he is right there is no material on Chem. IF he did a series in Chemistry explaining everything from the start to how to start. I would be into chemistry NOW!
What an interesting conversation, much appreciated! Glad I stumbled onto this channel.
Thanks Caty, lots of other episodes for you to enjoy too 👊
Man, nothing but respect for Hamilton!
I remember people used to hate on him in the early Vice days.
"Maybe it wasn't the overarching media conglomerate that distributed it, maybe it was a human being that should be appreciated, or whatever"
Well put
Thanks, Chris Williamson, for facilitating this really engaging conversation. Hamilton Morris is very thought provoking.
Appreciate your comment

Damn hamilton morris is so inspiring to get into chemistry journalism and documentaries and I appreciate it
Love Hamilton! Dude be dropping hella knowledge!
Knocked it out of the park with these questions. Excellent interview.
I like how heated Hamilton got toward the end.
This is simply false
The fact that something exists in nature doesn't make it better
Many chemics from plants and animals are very lethal even though they have existed in nature for millions of years.
Many synthetic "new" chemicals have no effect and pass through the body without even interacting with anything
Many synthetic chemicals have postive effects on the body
Just because something is synthetic doesn't change its properties
Synthetic and chemicals made in organisms function according to the same rules
In addition
"Xenobiochemicals" or as they are really called xenobiotics aren't always man made.
If I consume mescaline produced by plants it's also considered xenobiotics since it isn't produced by me and isn't part of my expected uptake.
Edit:I changed "smoked DMT" to "consumed mescaline" since we produce DMT in very small quantities
You smell rubber from a turf? Cancer. Febreeze? Cancer. The problem is practically everything man made is giving us cancer
@@Jasonsoloka2024 the world wants to kill us anyway, theres chemicals that also stop us getting cancer lol, like sunscrean
My first encounter with Hamilton Morris. He is fascinating to listen to.
"Moved to tears at the sight of a dog on the street" lol, facts, I know this feeling very well.
Overall gratefulness and graciousness, as well as a general appreciation for the beauty of life, are some of the lasting effects they've had on me; a true blessing, my trips have been for me...
... especially the bad ones😉
It is sad. Street doogos and street pussies. 🐕 🐱 😞
thank you so very much for all your difficult work . you are a very important person in the psychedelic movement . i hope that society can come to grips with reality .
Fantastic episode, never a dull moment with Hamilton
I'm loving the recent influx of various podcasts having Hamilton on. he is just so ugh 👌👌👌🧠

Hamilton Morris is such a brilliant mind. I would love it if he wrote a book.
And narrated it.
Why don't u write a book?
Exactly. Why don't you write a book or an essay?
As always, Hamilton is well spoken and highly informative. Thank you for your dedication towards understanding psychoactive substances! Cheers from Denmark!
Much love for Hamilton
I just absolutely love Hamilton. He's such an amazing human being.
Great interview! I love Hamilton Morris. He's a modern day pyschonaut lol.
Side note, I wonder if Chris Williamson has ever done any voice acting or narration in his life. He has very nice sounding voice.
Love that he shouted out Extractions And Ire. Guys a legend
extractionsandire is the TH-cam channel Hamilton mentioned at the beginning where the guy is synthesising cubane in his garage. He's pretty funny
Thank you!!!

Great questions and very interesting podcast. Thank you.
Hamilton is the MAN!!!!! keep fighting the good fight you wonderful human!
Your questions are spot on with all of your guests, thanks for the content!
Thanks Joseph, I love these conversations
Hamilton Morris + Alexander Shulgin = Solution to most of the world problems
Oh boy, another person that thinks that drugs are the solution to all of the world's problems. So if that is really the case why didn't we stop all wars and end world hunger after the 60's?
They weren't on 50mg 4-HO-MET 😂 Thats why!!
Hamilton, keep up the good work brotha 💯
@@joeldavis5815 not enough drugs
What a world where a psychedelic researcher is saying normal people are out of touch with reality. A+
Great discussion, Hamilton is an interesting dude.....
"Come on Man" , . . . he's clearly out of his mind . . . ( in a cleat light, kind, of the Way) 😊
Your insight on social media, starting at @1:12:51 earned the subscribe right there. I've been feeling this for a while, especially the consumption vs creation, and it feels like a very black ball.
Use your computer for your interest! Program! Research! Create! Slow down on the consumption, you will get out of your rut if you put out projects. I know y’all struggling like me with this stuff. Ideas will begin to flow
I am living for the contrast of video meeting production set ups here. It's comedy gold, quaint and extremely endearing

Hamilton is a gentleman and a scholar!
This is such a better interview than Joe 'I'm not smart I'm an idiot" Rogan's. He never took the time to watch any of Hamilton's material. I instantly subscribed you're a great interviewer, and Hamilton is my biggest influence.
Thank you. I haven't watched the Rogan episode yet? Any good?
@@ChrisWillx well I think anything that Hamilton is in is worth watching... He's been on Rogan three times but every time Rogan has never seen any of his shit and it always bugs me.
