Check out restaurants, shopping and all of things that would be important to you. Where you worship and commute time are also considerations. Location is everything to a family.

This was so very helpful. I love this option so much better then buying an older home and renovating. The hardest thing for me is having to many options then being overwhelmed with decisions. I love your house. I love how bright and spacious it is. I love your style and the choices yall made.
My husband and I did a home similar, we moved in late January this year (so about 7 weeks after you!) We changed our colour palette (we didn't get to choose the layout, only a selection for the paint colours, bench top colour, flooring and carpet colours). We added extras like put in an extra light fitting (pendant over our dining table), and extra plugs for like the TV and internet wall plugs. We didn't get to choose our floor plan it was already set for us. Basically our colour palette was set into groups, we had 4 choices in total to choose from. So type A was one set of colours etc, Type B was another set of colours etc. We didn't get to make changes then, but we did request the extra light, extra TV plugs etc. We also asked to have our shower changed to a Bath but that was declined. It's a future plan to change our bathroom to add a bath tub!

Financing a home depends on your location. I'm in New Zealand we paid a deposit at the start when we signed, we had to pay extras along the way like we paid more for a heatpump/Aircon to be installed and also our light fitting and things were extra. You also have to pay for legal help along the way, it wasn't a single payment either. We paid like 4 times throughout the time too. It took two years to build our home, so there was a lot of back and forth to get everything done.
Me too girl me too. I work at a call center and there are some weeks where we are back to back with phone calls all day. By around lunch time I literally can't talk anymore. Thankfully I make my customers laugh but man is it rough some days lol. Love you guys so much!!

To anyone buying your first home I highly recommend have a realtor/ realtors company help you! Because whom ever you meet at a home off Zillow or any home website & you decide you want to buy that home you are stuck with that person as your realtor. You truly want a good realtor whom knows what they are doing. The best thing about having a single realtor company is that they know about a lot of homes before they even come into the market! We got to see our now home before anyone else and we’re able to buy it before a bidding war could ever happen 🤍
Also we wasted 18 months looking on Zillow at homes, seeing the homes & then not really being what we wanted. Once we hired a realtor we found our perfect home in two months!! And like I said we were the only person who got to see the home. Which was amazing because we planned on never getting into a bidding war for ANY home, wasn’t worth it to us.

How did the whole process take 11 months?! Crazy fast! Ours took 2 years from signing to moving in. We also had a 4 month shut down due to Covid-19 while building because our building team wasn't allowed to work. Government rules. Even so the expected timeline was 24 months from the start.
You would need to contact the companies directly. The floorplans can be copyrighted to certain companies use. Floorplans and plans are drawn up by architects etc and some don't allow open sharing to the public.
