Yussef Dayes is obviously coming to mind, and it's even better imho. Actually much of the Brownswood recording catalog would easily be scratching the same itch.
The latest Hiromi Uehara project called Sonicwonderland also goes into the same territory, and you can find a good NPR tiny desk extract from that album here on YT, highly recommended aswell. Hope you'll check them out and enjoy it !
