To; VariousVideos, Thanks SO much for posting these shows. Watched them as a kid and really appreciate being able to see them again. "Combat!" was so well made, the quality of the Direction/Writing/Filmography was fantastic. Each episode is like a "little movie" and better made than a lot of Hollywood junk you see that costs millions. Thanks again for your hard work and effort to share with us Combat fans!
Oh my gosh, I've seen this several times and just now noticed Littlejohn stumble after he showed Murphy the TNT he was carrying. Priceless. Love that understated stuff. And thank you, Various Videos!
I've read a lot of the comments and many of them are founded in that the things they point out are, in fact wrong. I'm 68 years old and watched this series with my father who fought from Normandy to Germany with the 35th Infantry Division during WW2. He never pointed out the mistakes and we both watched it as entertainment, not a documentary. This is a great series. Just sit back and enjoy it for what it is.
+IMA LT too many "experts" these days..... ruins the spirit of the show which was about the men. For what they had, MGM did their best to make a good WWII series. Cheers to you and your dad!
I am watching the series for the first time, 60 years after it was made and it is as good as when it was first aired. I've toured Normandy, Picardy, Brittany extensively and rural France both north and south , the scenes are spot on even if we see the same 'hill' and leafy boarding nets, village squares and such like. The French-speaking actors excel in their roles. I started at S01 and now at S04, still in black and white. I note that S05 is in colour and hope it doesn't lessen the impact. Also, what am I going to watch after I reach the end? I have tried 12-o-clock High but it is weak in comparison, basically because there is not a lot they could portray about air war..
I laugh sometimes at how little ammo they carry compared to the amount their shooting or how small trees stop bullets..It doesnt matter this is\ was a great show telling stories about my dad's generation making us when we were kid's proud of them...
This is Hollywood. The only reason they bunch up,is to get all in one frame.Had they spread out to 5m between them, they would need a very wide screen. And in real life, most patrols were conducted at night-time.I get annoyed, too, especially about German uniforms and insignia, but then I think,WTF,this in only entertainment....
The boxer dude, walking up the hill to check it, is waaay too casual (unaware) about it. Good way to get killed...acting like your in a walk in the park.
Since my high school days l have been watching Combat. L am glad Combat is back.but I missed more Vic Morrow. Thank you for bringing it back! Nory Velasco
Partly, and now I know were they got there inspirations from for some tactical EgoShooters and Tactical Games on the PC like the elder CALL of Duties and Brothers in Arms Hell´s Highway for example A bit they should had done the script different. This is really no Standard Infantry Unit but some Special Forces. Those existed to in World War II
I enjoyed this opening scene. It was very nice to have a bunch of men around when I was in the service. They were very nice, most were married. I would like to walk in a room just like this again. In the service I don’t believe my counterparts knew how I adored them.

Yea, when he said, "Over my dead body" if I was Saunders I'd have made it so, right then.
Thanks, I'm studying and I get a break with watching this show.

This show was back in the 60's when Hollywood had manly actors,
Great old shows but it's hard to watch if you've had any military training. This is all Hollywood for sure.

Jack Carter, Jack Klugman?
No my friend - two different actors that perhaps share a physical resemblance but they they are two different personalities.
Jack Carter, I mainly remember him being on Match Game. Always was a character.
