I'm agree too,so much foreigner feeling Taiwanese so friendly.Sometimes I'm proud of I'm a Taiwanese,even if our Government sucks but we still have unique culture,tourism spots can attract tourist come to Taiwan from worldwide.Finally,I want to say so much young people always eager to go abroad because maybe there is pretty than TW or something good batter than TW but I think we could look back our own country might be some beautiful things we just don't find it. poor English thx haha!

I hope that "treat the locals as we treat the foreigners" includes random physical attacks. That has happened to myself and to several other foreigners I know. Eg one guy who was stopped at a red light and attacked by "biao che zhu" (not sure how to translate this, maybe scooter racers) using a motorcycle lock to hit his head. I lived in China and Singapore before but nothing like this happened there with my friends... I agree Taibei is safer for foreigners than the other cities though.
Bill Chen ummm no. Their are safe Chinese (by Chinese in this context I mean華人 dominated societies). Singapore is a good example. I don't feel that way about Taiwan though. I admit for foreigners Taibei is much safer than most of the rest of the island.
i love Taiwan,even though there are still many social problems and issues waiting for us to solve them,but i have always believe that our love can make everthing better. just love Taiwan,love the island and love this place!
I grew up in Taiwan and moved to US after 26 years. I am 52 now and a US citizen, knowing English and Western culture quite well. Meantime I witnessed Taiwan going through major transformation in last 20 years. Indeed, Taiwan people are becoming world class citizens in terms of openness and manner. It is really a proud example of Asian culture and hope.

I just arrived back from Taiwan. Here is my review from a foreigner living in Aus. 1) Taiwanese people are the most friendliest in the world. I have been to 30 countries. 2) They are civilised. Very clean city and people have a high level of cleanliness 3) Polite and caring society. Strangers do look out for one another. Observed numerous times on Subway MRT strangers allowing there seat for the elderly. (I have never seen this before in any country, except Taiwan) 4) Taiwanese people are smart. Employment rate is almost 100%. Everyone works or is doing something, but in a calm way. Exceptional sales skills and customer service in all areas. IMPROVEMENTS: 1) Have more rubbish bins in the streets 2) The smell coming from road gutters. Very bad smell 3) Get rid of 2-stroke scooters as air pollution is a BIG PROBLEM! Overall rating: 9/10 Highly recommended

但我仔細的看了一下，其實也就只有兩個女生有提過台北 (有一個她的發言分開了兩個部分)，其他的都是在說喜歡台灣啊~
而且人情味、守規有禮、街道乾淨、東西好吃、熱情、傳統文化、自然環境... 這都不只限於台北才有啊~ :)
其實台灣，真的很美，
也許有時候只是因為大家身處在台灣太久，了解得太多，
有時候反而會被那些不好的事物佔據了自己的視野，讓你們忘記了你們的好而已。
(其實不只是台灣人，很多國家、城市的人也好像會這樣，就像我在香港，我也常常看不到香港到底有多好:PP

naguoning ok thats kind of like saying mexico city is safer than NY city because one had been living in both cities but was only robbed at NY city.

還有為什麼我們對外國人很友善
有一部分的原因是我們很沒自信
總覺得自己比不上人家 所以當有外國人來台灣我們都會盡量的友善
這只是好聽一點的說法 難聽的講叫做奴性
另外一個原因是台灣因為受到中國的打壓很多外交都沒辦法正常進行
所以從國小我們就被教育要"國民外交"
老實說還有一點悲哀
人民對外國人友善某種程度上是因為國力太弱，只能期望外國人看到自己善良的一面能下手輕一點。

就同台人韓人日本人去東南亞也能爽爽玩啊

I just arrived back from Taiwan. Here is my review from a foreigner living in Aus.

原本看了很感動的....結果結尾也太好笑
很乾淨 ?? 寫信給市政府很多次, 希望在夜市旁新增垃圾桶, 結果單位推來推去, 最後整條夜市看不到公有垃圾桶,於是乎大家還是把垃圾丟在地上
台灣乾淨!!?? 表示很驚訝,真是奇怪,我每次在路上都會看到有人丟菸蒂...
第二和第三個理由全要歸功於辛苦的清道夫

過不久臺灣最美的就是彩色的河流了
