Thank you! I will publish the videos of the other SimRacingExpo exhibitors during this week. Then it is nearly as you have been there ;-) Overall I am a bit disappointed from that event. Many of the „big“ names were missing.
Even with the improvements in the CS DD's aluminum motor shaft, it's hard to overlook its limitations when compared to the sturdiness of heat-treated steel shafts. High torque situations might be a potential weak point.
Idk man the thing has some of the strongest hokding torque I've felt it feels so much stronger then 15nm I think they got it right this time. It's whooping my simagic alpha ass. As fanatec has stated its internal motor shaft is the strongest they have ever created. Alu may not be as strong as steal but they were also able to make it much thicker due to being lighter. I think the mass and weight make up for it not being SS.
Can you change the QR2 to a QR1 as i own quite a few wheels with the QR1 and changing all of them to a QR2 Quick release will be a massive roadstop foe me considering this wheel
There was one guy at the trade fair that exactly did what you are suggesting ;) Or maybe I need to convert to an Octopus;) But yeah, that would have helped a lot.
With these new fanatec bases will you still need the podium hub to contact say a GSI wheel?
Yep. I do not think that they have changed the mechanism where the Podium Hub is the entry gate to FFB effects for non Fanatec wheels.
Awesome video, thanks for the look around the Fanatec stand, wish this was an event that I could go to.

@@racingismypassionDE Thanks! I'd love to see more footage. Shame a lot of the big brands were missing this time round. Do you know why that is?

Yes, that would be interesting to see in long-term tests. Good observation!

That is an interesting point for sure. Do not know if someone thought about downgrading before ;)
Next time slap a GoPro to your forehead :)
