As someone who severely suffers from acne I'm super grateful for her to talk on this subject, it's really disheartening when people say I'm so brave, etc for just showing my face and skin
I also have acne and I absolutely hate when ppl say that we are so brave line wtf that‘s so backhanded it just proves that they see it as disgusting and that they would never walk around with that but since we have no choice they call us brave as if we served in the war or something. It‘s literally not out choice we can’t help but have acne we didn’t ask for it and ppl with their backhanded comments just make it worse. Instead of saying oh it‘s ok it can happen nobody is perfect and acne can go away when you treat it they literally say oh you‘re so brave wtf😂🤣
Not a fan of her, just came across this video and she’s right actually. The amount of backhanded compliments people give out to anyone who has acne is insane. They point it out as if they want you to know that they can see it and then compliment you that you’re handling/carrying it well. It’s pretty nasty behaviour
idk ab that. me looking in the mirror and thinking i don't look good with it like most girls and then someone saying i look good even with them seems kinda soothing to me. yall weird fr. ofc people notice pimples they ain't blind. and the first thing that comes to mind is that u don't feel pretty so they say something. its just common sense
for real they just wanna feel like a good person for going out of their way to compliment something that they actually dont like but its so condescending
I didn’t have a single pimple in highschool and as soon as I went away for college my entire face broke out with cystic acne and I struggled with it on and off up until I was 24. I completely understand the struggle it’s not an easy journey. It makes you feel so insecure and hopeless at times
SAME I started breaking out this year at 22 and even growing hair on my face and bunch of other hormonal changes (not food, not allergies). Apparently in women these hormonal fluctuations persist and can show up in our skin until usually 25 with a small percentage continuing to get adult acne. So it's not just a teen problem but with time and good care, it goes away!
“i thought i looked pretty” this!! like just let people post their natural faces without expectations. we all know what real skin looks like without makeup and filters.
@@K0DA0313 So? That doesn’t make it any better. It’s just showing how insecure she is and bringing it onto Charli. How about she DOESN’T point out her acne THAT’S a thought
I'm not a fan but this was randomly recommended. I've been struggling with acne since I was 10, and nobody knows how acne really affects a person unless they've had it. There's been so many times I've just looked in the mirror and sobbed. It's honestly pretty comforting seeing famous people have similar struggles. I feel for her
Hi, I’ve had acne since age 11 and I am turning 25 soon. I know exactly what you mean. It sucks especially when someone with clear skin gets one pimple and says “ew look I’m breaking out” to me. It’s so hard, I can’t even expose my back or chest
Honestly, I teared up just reading this comment. It’s really frustrating when you’ve dealt with acne for so long that you struggle to remember if there was ever a time when you didn’t feel this insecure about your skin. Sometimes I’ll start to get used to the way my skin looks and try to accept myself, blemishes and scars and all. But then all it takes is one comment about my skin, and all that progress that’s been made just goes to shit and I hate the way I look 100 times more than I did before.
OMG that broke my heart to hear her say “I thought I looked pretty.” After she posted something and people commented on her having acne. As someone who worked in the Derm field and saw all ages with acne, having acne at this age is definitely the worst. It can change who you are because you don’t want anyone looking at your face. This made me a fan, for sure ❤❤❤
I know what she means. It’s like going to school and having your friends say “girl you have so many acne scars” and then be like “but it’s okay everyone does” Edit: (it’s pointing it out even when you’re already insecure about it)
I know there's an urge to pick it but lets resist it, the pimples and hyperpigmentation will go away but scarring is another story. I have a scar from frustratingly peeling off a pimple lol
@@toothtown1914 Is it redness or did the texture change like an ice pick scar? I don’t understand people that say let’s normalize this and that but then keep continuously pointing it out or speaking out in it. Something that is supposed to normalized, is seen as normal. You wouldn’t call someone with clear skin “brave or having “courage” for showing their skin…
