  • Loop Jump progressions and tip on how to do a loop jump on the ice for ice skaters !
    Here are some loop progressions I use when I teach the loop (Rittberger) jump from an inside 3 turn entry, then from a backwards entry. Also addressing common mistakes figure skaters make.
    I take no responsibility for any injuries caused - take care and have fun!

    Oh, thank you. Ive only been able to get the loop jump from an inside 3 for over a year, and just thought I will never get it from bed c/overs, but this explanation is sooo good, I kinda understand the feeling I should be going for. 👍🏼

    hi, all of a sudden I'm having a big doubt about sth on the position of the hips to the shoulders : are they both aligned all through the jump from the preparation on backward crossovers? or is there a 1/4 counter rotation shoulders vs hips that helps create the rotation once you release the tension ? at 2min26 for ex it seems that both shoulder line and hips line are parallel (meaning the position is square) and then even through the jump they are square all along..

      Loop jump has to have tension between hips and shoulders. It can be done both ways… some let the shoulders go before the hips, others do it vice versa. I personally think keeping the shoulders checked as you say and letting the hips start the rotation a fraction before the shoulders release is the better way to increase rotational speed.
      So yes level shoulders and hips for a single you will be able to get away with. For a double or if you’re struggling to rotate you need more tension between them by releasing one before the other and letting the latter one “catch up”.
      Hope that helps 👍🏼

    Thank you so much! I try and try but I don't get a proper landing. It seems that I don't get enough rotation. What am I doing wrong?

    • @iskatecoach
      @iskatecoach  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Try making sure you’re facing forwards when you jump, usually an u set rotated landing is an under rotated takeoff… if you like I do a video analysis service on my website you can submit a video for feedback 👍🏼 www.iSkateCoach.co.uk
