I think the physics of this is that the Hot Wheels with their weight get down the ramp extremely quickly, but the Marbles with their round design have a huge advantage on the flat surface of the track, and the fact that the Marbles have less friction on the track. This makes it so that the Hot Wheels have a huge advantage at the beginning, and the Marbles only have a very short amount of time to bring that margin down. Also the fact that the Marbles bump into each other give them a disadvantage on the track.
