Kru Ben, Thai slang very interesting, and being able to talk like a Thai teenager would be "jayng" 55 If I started throwing Thai teenager expressions at my wife Wan, that would totally make her laugh 😂
It doesn't hurt to know them and it is normal that you didn't understand it if you are not a Thai native speaker :) By the way, in Thailand there is relatively a lot of appreciation to be had by being polite, more than cheeky or using slangy language. I think be polite first, then an appreciation for Thai slang terms will come by itself, along with knowing when it’s fun and appropriate. :) This is on the assumption that the context of the question is to just be able to drop a funny term in Thai slang occasionally to be funny or impress people. If on the other hand you’re actually studying Thai then it’s also definitely true that you’re not going to learn even remotely slangy terms from books and courses; it’s hard enough to get the common, colloquial terms to sound natural. So in that case there are of course lots of terms that would be helpful just like in this case . ;)
