Saw it. Great movie, the scene where he's in the rehab centre and all his family and his younger self come in and they sing together is amazing, a scene to remember. It really was divine. And just the friendship between Elton and Bernie
My mom was utterly shocked how many Elton John songs I was singing they were playing throughout the movie. And I told my mom I secretly love Elton John songs just like how I secretly love Freddie Mercury songs as well. And when Your Song came on I couldn’t help it I was singing and with my autism I was moving with the music. Music makes me super happy. And Elton is extremely lucky to be able to watch a film about himself. Keep imagining how Freddie Mercury would be if he watched Bohemian Rhapsody.
I am so happy that he asked for help when he needed it. The music world would not be the same without him - even now. I have been very blessed to have seen Sir Elton in concert a few years ago. I have nothing but respect for this talented and generous man. He gave all of his energy to make sure that we (audience) got what we paid for. Actually he gave more than that. I truly feel blessed that I was even in the same room as him. I wish so much that I could tell him how very much I am thankful for his time
Elton was extremely kind to my brother and I and it means so much for me to see that they have finally gotten around to telling this lovely man’s amazing story. Sadly, my beautiful brother won’t sit next to me when I see it, but he will definitely be there with me in Spirit.
when I saw the movie, my heart went out to Elton, I could relate to his search to be loved and what you find yourself doing to attain it or don't. I laughed and cried like a baby and at the end of the picture, the whole theater irrupted in applause. like watching a prize fighter
I grew up listening to Elton John and loved this interview. Just watched the movie and have to say it was made beautifully . Eltons had his demons but somehow he's risen above it all and is a special special man, thank you for the music Elton.
Love elton John, I've always loved his honesty. He could be a bit of a drama queen but watching the film I see where his anger issues came from :( I am glad he finally found peace and happiness and he does so much and gives so much back. So nice he did find love with David furnish real love , he's always been so supportive of elton and I believe he's been the one there in the background keeping him standing. And Bernie has been such a loyal friend to him throughout his whole life, always loved and accepted him for who he was. Everybody needs someone like that in their lives especially when your in that business!
Great interview with Elton and Taron. It's especially enjoyable to see someone like Elton embrace not only his back catalog and legacy, but also be mature enough in his older age to embrace and support new artists, instead of actually trying to be 20-something himself all over again. That time has passed. Each generation has their heroes, and he's more respected for understanding that vs. fighting tooth and nail against it. Kudos.
I want to give a big hug to Sir Elton John first of all. I want to express my personal feelings about this fantastic movie that portrayed his difficult life. I have been extremely moved bye the roller coaster ride that Elton went through in his life. This movie changed my knowledge of what Elton John went through his life and how his music became what it is today. How personal and loving is soul is. This is a must must must see movie. After watching it a hundred times I bought the DVD and I couldn't be any happier! Love you Sir Elton John. Thank you for all what you gave to us.
I love how much elton supports new artists. I don't like the whole attitude that all music today sucks and looking into the past...music back then was amazing duh but new music is good too you just gotta look for it!
I mean we all have our own opinion and some people don’t like the newer rather than music back in the day. But it is nice to see Sir Elton supporting new artists
I went to the cinema to see Rocketman yesterday (4th June 2019) and I thought the film was amazing!! I wouldn't be surprised if in a few years time, the film would be made into a show in a London theatre. The singing and dancing was awesome, the music of Elton John was just brilliant!! The actors were amazing too. They played their parts so well. The actor who played Elton, actually sounded a bit like him when he sung the songs. I thoroughly enjoyed the film, definitely recommend to go and see it! The fans will not be disappointed!!
I love how Taron respects so much to Elton and how the connection between them is so explosive... No idea but I feel so connect and emotional with the movie, Taron and Elton. Somebody else feel like that too?
I got chills with every song. And I even cried. Not only because of the way the songs were presented but because of my own memories with these songs. They've been played at weddings, proms, funerals in my life. They represent so many milestones for so many people and for one artist to do all that is just...everything.
@@samanthavictoria3308 not to mention you can't compare Freddie's voice with Elton's...Freddie's was insanely unique with huge range and power. I'm sure Elton would agree. Surprised he gave that unnecessary dig.

@@Motown-1966 I didn't say anything rude, I just stated my opinion. If you have an issue with what I said then that's a you problem.
I still stand by what I said, of course someone personally involved in the music industry is going to know more about current music than someone who isn't. The people he surrounds himself are probably also involved in the music industry.
1sTEfFaniE1 😩 Which is why your initial comment came off as rude ‘cos it’s obvious that Elton’s STILL heavily involved in the music industry...duh 🙄! Your “opinion” was meant to belittle and was mean spirited. BUT the rest of us here on YT can read and take at face value 🤨 which was why I called you out on it.
@@Motown-1966 well, you're the one swearing and calling me a "knob" so maybe you should be more careful who you criticize.
Bye✌️
This interviewer is great. Asks great questions, engages with Elton and Taron well and he isn’t afraid to butt in but in a nice way as he apologises. From what I can tell, he warms to the guests and that makes all the difference
Saw it. Great movie, the scene where he's in the rehab centre and all his family and his younger self come in and they sing together is amazing, a scene to remember. It really was divine. And just the friendship between Elton and Bernie
Autotrope it was that moment that made me cry
I cried when he embraced his younger self 😢😢
My mom was utterly shocked how many Elton John songs I was singing they were playing throughout the movie. And I told my mom I secretly love Elton John songs just like how I secretly love Freddie Mercury songs as well. And when Your Song came on I couldn’t help it I was singing and with my autism I was moving with the music. Music makes me super happy. And Elton is extremely lucky to be able to watch a film about himself. Keep imagining how Freddie Mercury would be if he watched Bohemian Rhapsody.
God, these interviews would be so much better without the OBNOXIOUS music in the background.
Amen
Louder to be heard over the music
Jillian M I didn’t even notice it before you commented 😭😭
Yes. The first song was a distorted version of a twenty one pilots song. I love them but it sounded so weirdddddd
Totally
Taron's crazy suit speaks of Elton himself because Elton always dressed crazy as well. Love it!
Cindy, oh, wow, somehow I did not notice his suit but you are so right!
I gotta say, I LOVE Taron in the suit, he looks fabulous.
I love how they're always matching
ET doesn’t stand for entertainment tonight it stands for Elton and taron
Elton is definitely one of the GOATS in this music world, and just a good and vibrant person who truly loves life! Its inspiring!
Other then Paul McCartney I can't think of anyone who has contributed more to music in so many different ways over a whole life time
@@lukmilbur264 Freddie Mercury ? Ow yeah ! He ded
Someone needs to do a movie on David Bowie, the glam trio of Freddie, Elton and David would be complete.
Great idea!!!
With Tom Hiddleston as David
Ryan Tonner nope he looks nothing like David Bowie
Sushi lover what about Benedict Cumberbatch?
They should call it "Star Man"
I am so happy that he asked for help when he needed it.
I wish so much that I could tell him how very much I am thankful for his time
The amount of love between those two make me so happy. I am so glad you are still standing, Elton. ♥
Elton was extremely kind to my brother and I and it means so much for me to see that they have finally gotten around to telling this lovely man’s amazing story. Sadly, my beautiful brother won’t sit next to me when I see it, but he will definitely be there with me in Spirit.
I am so glad taron sang himself and didn’t lip sync ✨😍
Elton (paraphrase) : "In those days people were conservative and my parents stayed together much longer for my education, and I appreciate that..."
when I saw the movie, my heart went out to Elton, I could relate to his search to be loved and what you find yourself doing to attain it or don't. I laughed and cried like a baby and at the end of the picture, the whole theater irrupted in applause. like watching a prize fighter
The movie was absolutely incredible, a huge thank you to all involved in this project.
We are so blessed to still have this special man with us all . I wish for him much peace and happiness.
👄👄😆🤗🤗🤗💖💖💖
Taron's ring in his pinkie finger remain me of the ring in Kingsman. 😍
I grew up listening to Elton John and loved this interview. Just watched the movie and have to say it was made beautifully . Eltons had his demons but somehow he's risen above it all and is a special special man, thank you for the music Elton.
Taron is so eloquent. So much more to come from him as an actor I am sure.
Great interview and interviewer who knows his stuff and did his research! One of the more revealing EJ interviews done lately.
Love u Elton glad u got help. Stay strong
6:25 look at his smile. He's so proud, as he should be :) Amazing performance. Amazing duo.
Kudos.
The interviewer’s reaction to the movie was mine. All I wanted was to give Elton a hug.
You have to admit...90& of the crap out today sucks...no real writing anymore...very few with any feeling...
@@hunterriley2907 Exactly
It isn't the music that sucks, it's the industry. As always, of you want to hear good music, get away from the record shops and radios.
@@sashahoward7760 exactly.
I LOVE THIS MAN! 🤩
Every time Elton Speaks my heart gets full! Nothing short of a Legend!
Who the hell would dislike this
It's amazing
I'm 48 now born in 71 and I can honestly say the first song I've ever heard from Elton John was Bennie and the Jets when I was about 4 or 5.
I'm only a year younger than you and I love Elton's music. Madman Across The Water, Tumbleweed Connection, Goodbye Yellow Brick Road are masterpieces.
Can safely say this was one of the best films I have ever watched. Taron's performance was simply perfection and I love both him and Elton so so much.
I’ve loved him my entire life and now even more so!
I am AMAZED that Taron sang all of the songs in that movie! It truly sounded like Elton. I’m blown away by the talent of this brilliant young man.
When "your song" started during the movie, I cried like a baby. Like, sobbing. God i love that man.
I saw this movie last night and it was WONDERFUL!!!! It’s so much fun and I love the message!
Amazing movie!! I will see it again!!
This guy became Elton he even looked like him!
Great Great movie!
He nothing like him
I have seen it twice in the past week. Its funny, its emotional, its gritty and its flamboyant.Amazing!
Amazing movie. He really hung in there and is "still standing" and totally sober now. Glad he shared his story
I love how Taron respects so much to Elton and how the connection between them is so explosive... No idea but I feel so connect and emotional with the movie, Taron and Elton. Somebody else feel like that too?
Taron seems to be moving away from Kingsmen fashion to Elton John's sartorial example.
Taron is on a Rocketman press junket, and is looking the part. As an professional entertainer, and a really good one.
I hope not as there is goin to be a number3
I cried at least three times while watching this movie .. wow !
Im crying in the interview....
I got chills with every song. And I even cried. Not only because of the way the songs were presented but because of my own memories with these songs. They've been played at weddings, proms, funerals in my life. They represent so many milestones for so many people and for one artist to do all that is just...everything.
is it okay have a feeling that Elton John was like a "godfather" to every young person, who started music career?
The interviewer’s reaction at the beginning is exactly how I’d be if I met Elton after seeing the movie. Give him a big hug.
Im crying right now man. Elton had a really difficult life. Im so proud of him. So proud of actor's work.
"I didn't want someone to be lip-syncing. I'm not taking away from any other movies, but"
... oof. :p HARD side-eye at Bohemian Rhapsody.
InkyPetrel yess!!! I got that, too.
InkyPetrel at least bohemian rhapsody did it well. There was also bits of Ramis voice mixed into the audio as well as Marc Martels voice
@@samanthavictoria3308 not to mention you can't compare Freddie's voice with Elton's...Freddie's was insanely unique with huge range and power. I'm sure Elton would agree. Surprised he gave that unnecessary dig.
val macclinchy yeah me too. Not at all what I would expect from him
I mean to be fair, Freddie's voice was insanely unique in terms of range, and it's basically impossible to copy, so Rami not singing is perfectly acceptable and understandable.
This is literally the most precious interview Ive ever seen. Taron deeply loves Elton. OMG. Taron is the sweetest . Ive been an Elton fan since I was 5 (1972) and Taron makes the same expressions I do at Elton interviews. Its like hes all of us fans in one!
Just seen the film just brilliant and Taron did a great job playing him
SO excited to see “Rocketman” as a huge Elton and Taron fan
Second bio pic that I will watch on repeat!!! I love learning more about these incredible, incredible artists! And Taron Egerton is AMAZING!!! I love that he sang all the music.
The best part is when he plays "Your song" to his best friend. Their friendship was my favorite part!
I’ve been a fan since forever. I’m grateful Elton is still with us.
Elton has been my mom's favorite artist since she was in high school in 1971. She has every album, some on both vinyl and CD. Growing up it was all I really listened to. I learned to dance, sing, got inspired to learn piano, formed my taste in music, all from listening to Elton. I guess I've been a fan since birth lol. Seeing his story on screen was way more emotional for me than I anticipated. It really is a great film about a truly great, legendary man. And I thought it was impossible to become MORE of a fan than I already was..
After this interview, I love Elton even more.
I almost started crying during the Your Song scene tbh, it was just so beautiful and Taron performed the song and scene amazingly, and like Taron said - such a great storytelling moment
I love how passionate Elton still is x
Elton is just incredible,he has been in my life from childhood like Prince and MJ,what a talent,I'm so glad I have been alive in his lifetime,I hope he lives long because he is the golden glitter of stardust that makes life worth living
You and me both!❤. What a time to be alive! I was made fun of by my peers cause of my taste in music...look at me now 😍✌
Attended that concert at Dodger Stadium...in about the first200' from the stage! Great Concert.
Taron is super talented and absolutely gorgeous. Be still my beating heart! 😍
0:58+ WOW, just realized how much Taron actually looks like Elton when he was younger!
yes he does but better looking
@@stephenfermoyle1498 No way
Taron you excelled in Rocket man ❤you 💫
The fact that Elton John game shout out in reference to Billie Eilish, Khalid, and Rizzo makes me respect and so much more. Such a good movie too.
The movie is absolutely amazing! I cried like a baby!
