    Awesome videos! My 11 yr old son and I are building a rigid chopper together this winter. Once we get motor and trans bolted down and aligned if you get a chance a video of spacing rear wheel and mounting rear fender all together would be great! Thank you for the info!

    Nice job! I've hardtailed 3 shovelhead frames in my lifetime, but never that way. I guess the method i have used is pretty much same that you have done before this.
    That frame section looks like pretty good quality product. Those rear axle cast pieces looks good too, no plasma cut steelplate pieces or other stupid crap like that on that rear section.

    Great video bud can’t wait to follow along. I want to build something for myself I bought a 2006 flstni new wanted to find classic bike at the time and was talked out of it. Regrets ever since I mean it’s a nice bike but it’s a twin cam B motor and kinda seems like riding a Japanese bike with a big block Chevy. When I grew up Harleys shook , belched , farted and dripped that what made them cool. Sorry about the long story but anyway looking sell mine and finally build something like I have always wanted. Take care bud and stay safe.

      I will be doing a wide glide rebuild here in the future. It sounds like you may have a bad set of tubes possibly. Usually it’s pretty dang simple.

    I have the V-Twin shorter hardtail unit. Now trying to sort out getting the Juice drum aligned with the transmission sprocket. I have a small bolt on bracket that takes care of the brake stay but looks like I am going to need a couple of spacers and the gizmo that holds the backing plate to the axle plate extending Have you ever set up this arrangement before?

    whenever you do a front end on a sportster, i'd like to see the process of adjusting the neck bearings. mine still feel clunky when hitting bumps and it's hard to tell if it's shitty carts or bad bearing adjustment

    • @codyschoppercorner5727
      @codyschoppercorner5727  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If it feels bad while hitting Bumps I’d adjust your frontend by jacking the front wheel off the ground. With The bars straight let the frontend fall to one side or the other. It should fall with (slight) resistance. No more then 1.5-2 seconds. If it just flops with no resistance then you need to tighten the neck stem nut. If this doesn’t fix your problem, I’d try a different fork oil weight. Hope that helps ya until I can do a video on it.

    Where's your shop located ? I've been looking for someone that is setup to do frame work, for several years. Of I do find a shop that is willing to do frame work, either they want to learn on my frame or I'm not impressed with their shop. There is a couple shops downtown Chicago that do good work but, I'm not interested in having ties with Chicago. I don't mind having to travel a bit too drop parts off and such. Just not all the way across the country.

    I have 3 stock shovelheads... such a waste to chop up an original frame, those are not made by HD anymore. Why not buy a hardtail frame and leave the original be ? Another original frame gone forever... 😥 and that for a hardtail chopper, those are a dime a dozen.

      Well, I’d suggest you don’t chop your 3 stock Shovelheads then. Panhead/knucklehead frames are over 3000 for a decent one these days if you can find one. Stock Shovelhead frames are much more accessible And A fraction of the price.
