As much as I love you both and would love to see your new home, please don’t share. 💕 Thanks for all you do! Meeting you in March was the highlight of our trip!

I know EXACTLY what you are talking about as far as being scared to walk from the car to your apartment. I just stayed in an AirBnb off of Hester & Katella and it was TERRIFYING! I wouldn't go out to the car by myself. So HAPPY ya'll are happy! The feeling of safety & security is PRICELESS! 👏🏻🏡

From Malibu to Anaheim... welcome to the hood vatos! 😂🤭 I would have stayed in Malibu.
Before Malibu there was Silverlake, and before that Hollywood all the while painting all over DTLA, Highland Park, Boyle Heights, Commerce, and South Central, so im no stranger to the streets and gangs by any means, just dont wanna live around it 24/7. And still have Malibu whenever we want.

Congratulations on your new place! Safety has to be priority. From a visitors perspective (Australia) we usually stay on harbor boulevard, is it still safe to walk back to hotels a couple of blocks away after a day at Disneyland? We are always sensible but as a family obviously we want to make sure we are safe.
I always stay on Harbor too but it's been two years so I'd be curious as well if it's the same or not. We always passed several homeless while walking back to the hotel at midnight but honestly I never felt scared....but that could have definitely changed.
@@lalalauraann it’s been just over 2 years for us too. I’m hoping it hasn’t changed too much and is still safe to walk home.
We just went for Halloween and stayed across the street. It was safe and we had no issues. We also mind our own business and don’t engage with others.

I grew up 2 hours from Disneyland and loved it. Then I married an Alaskan and was thousands of miles away. I still went to Disneyland but only every few years. Now we live 9 hours away and it’s doable but my health doesn’t allow it Oh well. I live vicariously now.

Yes, we LOVE DISNEYLAND, so happy you are still living near Disneyland. Safety is #1 priority. We had no idea Anaheim has a gang problem, very scary and frightening, we are homebodies and rarely travel out of our city where we reside. Thank you for the info, I mistakenly thought OC was much safer than LA County, now I know better. Take care Spencer and katie, stay healthy and safe.
Some time back, I remember reading about the fight Disney was in with Anaheim about this issue. If I recall correctly, Anaheim politicians and union types wanted Disney to (help) build affordable housing for their workers so they could live near the park.
Disney, other businesses, and residents resisted because they had just gotten the surrounding areas upgraded from the semi-squalid conditions it had deteriorated into around the late 80s/90s... I think. Plus, general research said this exact thing would happen because it happened in similar places and situations.
In the end, I Think Disney had to give in and the problems began. They started having problems with cars being broken into or stolen from the parking lots, and other stuff.
It seemed like Disney has been having a lot of issues with Anaheim and unions since then. I guess it's because Disneyland is stuck there and can't pack up and move like other companies.
Again, this was a long time ago, but I'm fairly positive about the general situation
I like the everyday life vlogs just as much as Disneyland. I used the Trader Joe ones last year. Can you go again this year? I hope you both will be very very happy in your new home. ❤️
First DL Visit was July 1964, literally a few Weeks before Mary Poppins came out. Walt was in the Park.
Today IMO, Disneyland FORWARD, is a last ditch Hail Mary Pass toward FIXING those Local Anaheim Issues that are Out of Disney Control.
WALT was frustrated THEN (60's) by the seediness of the Area that had built up around DL, that's why he looked at Florida in the First Place.
Today, there is a huge disconnect between the COST to live there VS the actual QUALITY of Life.
I think we are at an important Tipping Point now where the Battle of Good vs Evil could go either way.

I have that fridge too! I LOVE IT. If you haven’t found it yet, on the inside left there’s a water spout with a grey button. Not in the door but on the wall of the fridge. I had no idea it had one when I ordered it and was so stoked when I finally discovered it. But super easy to clean too, that fridge is 😘👌 Had it for about a year and a half and haven’t had a single issue

When we go , we stay at a Good Neighbor hotel and have often wondered how safe it was around there . My better half takes his morning runs around Anaheim when we visit and he said he’s seen quite a few homeless camps abc people but really no gang stuff . But I’m sure there is . It’s too bad . When Walt built it , there was just farms and orange groves there , right ? Now look at it 😢

The threat of fires (very real, my home almost burned down in the 2018 Woolsey fire), and the insane property taxes made me leave Calabasas, Ca.
Congrats! I am happy and relieved for you, and glad you were able to keep the Malibu cottage! Home has to feel and be safe and secure. I will be even more relieved when you are physically out of the old place. I know what you mean about knowing the right place when you see it, and loving the natural light. That is what sold me on our home. I also love getting settled in a new home and finding all the right spots for things. I know Katie is in heaven with the kitchen, and will be wanting to spend more time there cooking, and I can't wait to see Spencer's cheese drawer all filled up, LOL. Best wishes to you both! 🥰

i moved to Fullerton and Orange, ca to be closer to Disneyland and i felt very unsafe and had problems from neighbors and property management. I was harrassed, threatened to the point where i now have PTSD.
We were starting to worry that you moved to FLORIDA. WDW is nice, however, Disneyland is more special and magical to us. Thank you for staying and continue vlogging in Disneyland.

Running Springs CA here 70 miles away from Disneyland my wife mother of 2 Brain Tumor Survivor who has BRCA 2 CANCER GENE had a double MASECTOMY and HISTORECTOMY still was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic Breast Cancer she really wants to see Disneyland during Christmas time this year
Glad to hear about the move. I live about 15 min away and even here in City of Orange on border with Anaheim I feel what you were feeling. The area immediate to Disneyland is just not good. Good luck in the new place and looking forward to the coming videos.
A good decision to change to a safe apartment. I grew up in Woodland Hills and went to Taft HS (earlier than Spencer) class of 1980. How many bedrooms and square ft is the new place? If you don't mind, how much is a nice apartment these days in that part of town? I know the cost of living is high.

Congrats! I would love to know the general area where you are and how much the rent is, but I know that you don't want to reveal info about where you are located for obvious reasons. Congrats on the new place! Question concerning the Disneyland area….would it not be safe walking to and from the parks if we stay at a hotel near the convention center? The hotels state “walkable” but if I have kids may be not a good idea?

I’m one of those people who is immune compromised and you get me. I just started dialysis a few days ago after my transplanted kidney stopped working (I had a good 10years with it). If it’s convenient get to the Village at Orange there’s a $3 shuttle provided by RTA ,route 200. It departs, every 90 minutes or so, from the Trader Joe’s sidewalk to Disneyland. A monthly pass is $95. Last bus going back departs at 10:15 PM.
I previously lived in apartments south of Disneyland hotel. HUGE gang affiliations there. I’m truly happy that you guys got out and found a new place.

You two are living your best lives, disregarding the always present bumps and potholes we all must deal with. Happy you are in a better place. Note Spencer re: cheese: I worked as a Cheese Monger for a few years selling hundreds of cheeses from around the world in a shop here in Santa Barbara. Love love love cheese. Remember cheese is best at room temperature. BTW I've had the Moderna shots and didn't faze me at all. Nada, zip, nothing.... I never had any adverse reactions. Life is What happens when you're busy making Other Plans.

Congrats on your move. I have never felt safe driving through the surrounding neighborhoods of Dineyland, and I only visit every few years. First and foremost is your safety. I do have to say that both myself and my husband have the same excitement as you both when it comes to a refrigerator. We were excited for the icemaker and my husband LOVES his cheese drawer. He loves his cheese, just as Spencer loves his cheese. Every place we go, we look for a different type of cheese. Someday we want to do a cheese tour. Can you imagine Spencer?! Again...congrats! Maybe we will see you next month. We are flying in on Dec 4th and will be the parks for 5 days. We are excited!
