As I live in the Balkans, I'm addicted to the cheese pie, therefore I keep looking for new regional recipes. Yours has been the best up to now, thanks!
I’m so happy to find your recipes. My mum passed away a few years ago so it’s been great to find some of her dishes here. I missed her cooking and now can learn and enjoy again. She also made the tastiest apple fritters which my children loved so much .
Thanks. I miss my mom too and it is wonderful we are able to make these recipes for our children. My mom made apple fritters as well. Maybe I'll do that video soon and you can tell me how it differentiates from the ones your mom made.
@@aworkofcraft Thanks I would love to see your apple fritter recipe to compare. Your instructions are so easy to follow, it’s a pleasure to try your recipes.
Thank you for this!! I had a burek when I was younger years ago when I visited Croatia! It was so yummy I couldn’t forget how it tasted! This vid is very helpful! 😍
Thank you for the recipe! I feel like trying it. I had my first burek in Ljubljana and Koper!! It tasted amazing, both the cottage cheese one and the minced meat one. Not a dieting dish though. : )
Yes, there is a meat burek as well. I would not recommend cottage and feta and meat. Just brown your meat and spice it up, then use that instead of cottage cheese and feta.
aworkofcraft great thank you I’ve been to Slovenia lots of times I normally stay around Tolmin where my friends live right on the soca, they showed me once but I can’t remember I know it’s potato cheese with a little vinegar but not sure of process thank you, trev 👍 Dobra
first of all ....that's not Slovenian dish!!! is coming from Bosnia, Serbia or Croatia and is not calling burek with cottage cheese because burek is only with meat so we call it pita sirnica... i feel sad cuz this is my culture 😢
Burek is a Slovenian version of Pita Sirnica. I grew up eating it and it is served in most the bakeries in Slovenia. I had one 4 years ago in Koper where I was visiting.

Burek is rather Bosnian dish, retash or skutin zavitek is slovenian. Burek is much more saltier
