She possibly may have hurt him, and at the very least made him cry or yell when she grabbed his arm. The toddler pushed the cup off the table, and it broke. The sitter then grabbed his arm, and the toddler either cried or yelled loudly, altering the cats in another room to come to his aid. The black cat was keeping the babe away from his aggressor, while the other cat was following him around, I guess for moral support. Hopefully, the parents will know better than to hire her again. She possibly may have hurt him, and at the very least made him cry or yell when she grabbed his arm. Also, she was irresponsible for having a breakable cup near the edge of the table where the tot could push it off. Kudos to the cats for protecting their baby!

I don't believe this cat would have hurt a hair on that kid's head. It was very clearly trying to protect the boy. If you pay attention, it had calmed down near the end of the video until the woman picked up the boy again.
Also, this video says she's his mom but someplace else I saw it shared stated that she was the babysitter. Entirely possible, I can't think why the family would have been recording goings-on in the living room if it wasn't to monitor a sitter. So that's going to create problems potentially. If this actually had been the mother I suspect the cat would have been a lot calmer. Cats know the difference between Mom + Baby and Stranger + Baby--they're not stupid.
And speaking of which, unlike pit bulls who seem to like to snatch babies out of women's arms, cats know the difference between Human Kitten and Human Adult. They will tolerate an amazing amount of crap from babies that they'd never put up with from grownups. I see it over and over again.

Iv never met a cat that could actually impede a human in anything unless the human let them and iv met a ton of strays because they decided to live in the barn on my property.
