It's only natural, then, that we pass along what we've learned to our viewers. And as for the drone, I for one interpret your wife's response as implied permission. Go get it! It provides such a unique perspective in many circumstances.
We we're camped down at Tombstone a couple of weeks ago (around the 1st of March) about a hundred yards from where you were. Beautiful, but did it ever rain! Heavy and constant all night. The day before that we got snowed on down near Sierra Vista so we headed back to Quartzsite to thaw out again. Nice video!
Thanks! Yes, there's a couple of thousand feet of elevation difference over Quartzsite, which can make all the difference in the world. How was the road in and out when wet? Assuming that the washes didn't flood, it seemed sufficiently sandy to drain.
Thanks for the recommendation on staying in the National Forest land out there. My wife and I boondocked out there for a few days not far from your camp spot. Someone had beat us to that spot, but there are so many others out there. The views from that elevation were amazing in the evening. I can't say enough great things about this spot!

Love Tombstone. We skipped it last month on our AZ, NM trip because we had been there about 15yrs ago. We skipped Bizbee too, so looking forward to it. Love Longrock beach, I know Powell like the back of my hand. We were at Powell ourselves on Mar 2. Great drone shots of the Tombstone area. If you go to Monument Valley, you can't fly in the visitor park. Fly from Hwy 163 turnouts, over near Setting Hen monument, in Utah.
Great views Marc! I'd loved to have had a drone when I was there in Oct. 2014 for the annual SASS gatherings for the awards. People come from all over the world to this. I had just joined so I wasn't up for an award. I didn't get to see much except the shops in town. Wanted to see the huge rose bush, but maybe I can go back someday. I did get to tour the mine in Bisbee. Loved that entire four day trip!

This past Monday, or the Monday before? If it was this past Monday you missed us by two days. I'm pretty sure that you were in Sedona when we passed by there on Sunday. It's amazing the perspective you can capture with a drone, you should give it some thought. Although I nearly peed my pants earlier this week when, while flying over Bisbee for next Wednesday's episode, I lost radio contact with the drone and had to a) find it in the sky, and b) guide it back by line of sight in a tight mountain canyon with powerlines all around. Terrifying!

It is, thanks. With our lead time we're now southwest of Tucson, and this stretch of desert is perhaps even more beautiful, but in its own way. Saguaro, ocatillo, barrel cacti, prickly pear, palo verde, creosote and more, all mixed together in one gorgeous medley.

Question for you... how does your Tundra do pulling your camper? I'm guessing your camper weighs 6000+lbs. and I know Tundras have high tow ratings. Did you do any mods on your truck to tow? Also, payload is kinda low with Tundras....any issues with that?
Our gross weight on the trailer is around 7,500 lb, and the Tundra has no issues whatsoever with it. Actually, payload capacity is almost 1,500 lb so it's not bad at all and much higher then, say, the Dodge Ram 1500 series. Our Tundra is completely stock.
