For a long time, I never knew this movie existed. I thought Vijay's tamil version was the original 'Pokiri" and I loved it!!. But when I did watch this movie (after coming to know that the original pokiri is in Telugu)....I fell in love with this movie and Mahesh Babu more than its Tamil version. Dang!! This really is a cult classic. I will never in my life forget this movie!! Even when if i am a 100 years old, I would still enjoy watching this movie. And Mahesh Babu....The celebrity crush I never knew I needed. I LOVE THIS!!!! ONE OF THE BEST MOVIES IN THE 2000s ERA!!!!

They are centered around characters who play a part in the larger plot. The romance scenes feel organic too. Shruti isn't a poorly written token female character; she's the object of harassment, which is how her and Pandu's paths cross. Even her preferences for him are believable-I mean even ignoring the fact that Mahesh Babu looks like lightning, he's a bad boy in her eyes, and that's her type. The songs are an emotional release for the characters and for the audience as we see the romance developing. Pokiri is the ultimate masala film.

You can remove the entire episode of Ali and Brahmanandam and it doesnt make a difference.Puri does that a lot.In Idiot the track between Jiva and Ali.In Super the track between Ali and Brahmanandam (Finally Ali draws correct picture but the sequence is lengthy) in Amma Nanna o Tamil ammayi the track between pujaris and in Badri the track between Brahmanandam and his assistant and in shivamani the mobile phone track and in Desha Muduru Ali Naxalite theme .These are the movies I remember on top of my head but almost all of his movies has this Comedy theme which runs parallel with story which serves no purpose except for few laughs.By this time even after watching almost 2 decades of puri if you can't Recognize the pattern in his movies if you try to portray the comedy angle in pokiri adds something to story then it's not true.

There are parallels between the bigger plot and the comedy scenes too. For example, the scene where Ali tells Brahmanandam you can't even buy nirodh with 50p, the next scene Mahesh Babu tells Ashish Vidyarti his father should've used nirodh. In another example, right after Ileana puts money in Ali's bowl, he tells her "manchi mogudu dorakaali ani main prayer karta hoon." The very next scene, she runs into Ashish Vidyarti harassing her.
Just watched the re release of pokiri at Prasad's screen 6 man that madness is still on ❤️🔥🎉. Cannot explain how much I enjoyed today with people cheering at almost every scene. Happy Birthday Superstar Mahesh Babu ❤️

One thing I have to admit, keeping the action aside, the way the love story between Mahesh Babu and Iliena was developed is better than today's so called romantic movies. Every scene of them gave me butterflies in stomach. This made me want to see Mahesh Babu act in a romance heavy movie.

Salman has always been my favorite actor from childhood, I still had not watched Pokiri but watched Wanted when it was released. After watching Wanted I felt Salman didn't do a good job in this movie, something was wrong. I didn't get excited to watch Wanted again. His acting was not so good. People will feel same refreshment after 100 years watching this flim
