- In this video I will be forming Byzantium in Hearts of Iron IV. Although forming the core states of Byzantium is not very challenging forming the other four parts of the empire is much more difficult. I am playing the game on regular mode and we will see if I can form the whole empire. Cheers!

Why does every Byzantium Video beeline straight to Horror and Fear? If you want to rush the war, at least get your 4 Mils from the Great Powers first, and let them churn out equipment while you spend the rest of the time getting to the war. If Venizelos dies too early, then just restart or Crack down on the Monarchists before completing the "Compromising" focus.
Don't waste your buildup years if don't have to.
Also, build a port on your border to get supply and connect it with rail. Then you can use the old method of encircling the Turk army on Thrace.
Please mention in the description what version of the game is this and what DLCs you are using. Your hole strategy against Turkey is encirclement. In my game I find it impossible to do them, the Turkish positions are far too strong.

Yeah, the new update makes the AI a lot smarter. I got this game a few days before it and I noticed a massive difference in their abilities.
Good run so far. 10 min mark.
But you need to lower the "Muzak" volume, gets annoying quickly when you are commenting.

Loved the music :-) didn't find it too loud even when you were talking (which was for a few seconds anyway, if it was longer I agree then turn it down when you speak).

Everything was fine for me when I tried this until it was time to execute the encirclement traps. I'm going back and pausing the video over and over again to see the troop layout to make sure I get it right.
Just build a port on Alexandroupolis and use the old method. Use the General with Improv Expert to build makeshift bridges to give you the edge.

How did you get Naval superiority in Adriatic Sea against Italy?
I rewatched the video and I think that may the allies navy helped you. Its probably a bit of RNG here. Firstly justificate a war goal in Albania. Due to you have made a lot of World tension, allies Will guarantee them. Cancel war justification and wait until italian ultimatum. If they refuses, you will get a nice naval supremacy helped by the allies
CAS, Navs and patience
I got a question so I went a slightly different path on this guide. I wasn't able to beat Italy before they joined the axis. It is currently May of 1941 and the allies are defeated. Germany just declared on the Soviets and Japan attacked America. The Axis have a lot of the states I need for my Byzantium. Should I leave the faction and help the Soviets? Do I not join the war and let the Soviets fight alone? Do I help the Axis defeat the Soviets and play a very long game and wait to build a massive army to try and take on the Axis alone? Any help would be appreciated. I currently control all of Turkey, Iran, Iraq. Most of Yugoslavia ecxcept the Bulgarians took 3 provinces of theirs. I have bits of North Africa where Vichy France was, the UK, Canada, all but two provinces of Egypt, and the UK holdings in the Middle East. Currently have a small army of 246k with 111k in training.
I would wait till Germany is deep into Russia then attack straight for their capital.
@@ESG1 Thanks for the reply just letting you know I waited a year for Germany to get into Moscow and declared on them. Unfortunately, they drew all the allies as expected and just encircled me in my main thrust to Berlin. Gonna retry this campaign until I successfully get world domination though. I had a few mistakes that I think really weakened me. This guide definitely helps me get the ball rolling though. Thank you!

Hey if you are still responding to this post I did everything you said and had that one leader live all the way until the fascist guy came to power. The Turks keep breaking through Thessaloniki and the other encirclement trap plus Romania decided to help out and push. Im playing ahistorical and Germany went civil war. What should I do?
