@@neilt8790you don’t have to see it like that, you could never get such a powerfully device for so little money, in reality they have thrown in a whole lot of hardware for a much lesser price!
Thank you for your review with insights and experiences. Quite a few of our customers want total silent equipment, no fan noises. They have meditations and silences as part of their program. We have the 4K Production, that is really loud, we have the Mini, it is not sufficient for the amount of cams most to the time 5 PTZ's. Then we have the extreem ISO... with this we miss the outputs we need for the encoder, the multiview, the Atomos, the Hyperdeck, the audio monitor and all the converters for the PTZ's... So we went for the constellation 2ME, gives all the in/outputs we need, okay one converter for the multi view and little lower in sound... but still not silent enough for our customers... So what I am wondering now is, what the sound production of this Atem Television, is it lower than the constellation? It seemed quiet in your review while it was on...
I would love to see a BMD ISO recorder. A unit which connects to your ATEM and receives the same SDI inputs and capable of recording to an SSD while it creates the davinci file. If you already purchased one of the mid/higher non ISO switchers you are left out from the ISO game. Even if I buy a pile of Hyperdecks, I still don't have a davinci file and while these new mid level switchers are nice, they are still not as capable as the larger ones.
Perhaps the other way round: Building a Hyperdeck with 8 or 10 channels SDI-in and looped out. In that case you can connect the outs to the mixer and the Hyperdeck can handle the ISO-recording. For HDMI you need the converters only once.
Second the BMD ISO recorder! Also would like to see the there the multi-drive recording i.e. parallel recording on at least 2 SSD drives for highly critical productions.
Border on the supersource? YES, we ALL want that capability. I oft do not use Supersource because I have Vmix that does a better job with multiview and layers, which makes my switching environment a little more complicated. You are about as thorough of a reviewer I have seen on BMD products...you brought up so many things that I have not yet had considered, and some that I have encountered that makes life easier running a live broadcast .
28:12 i dont know maybe here is some cheap hacks but audio mixers which has natively MADI ins costs minimum 5-6K for 20 year old models lol. newer models more than 10 and 15K$s😂
Connecting to a network switch such a 48 port Cisco/Netgear/TP-Link is better than connecting just to a router because you have more flexibility and can add more devices on the same network. You can also add more switches to the same network up to seven.
Thanks for the video! I was wondering how you made the Talkback RJ46 to the Eartec HUB. I also want to build one so I can use my eartec with this setup. But i'm not shure what cables en headphone amplifier I should buy. I also see tape so maybe to DIYS for me:)
Excellent video. Thank you for this! I was putting a system together and couldn't get video looped out... noticed the project settings were off as I was watching this. Cheers!
What I miss the most on my Atem Mini Extreme ISO is: - Be able to use a different supersource on the second output for videoprojector (useful for live subtitles for deaf people) - Be able to play lower thirds videos with transparency. I think it could be done by ethernet somehow... I don't see Atem television studio would improve too much my workflow as it is now
Are there specific optical HDMI cables you recommend? We are using them for a year now, but some of them show weird artefacts. And they are also very thin and dont seem very robust.
@@janindurajapaksha5465 sure but you're just unplugging it and plugging it back in a power switch is a point to failure / something that can get pressed during a live stream
Can i put 2 stream keys and streaming at the same time?one for yt and one for vimeo 2 different programs.camera 1 for yt and mix of cam1,2,3 for vimeo.
Thank’s a lot. It is a very useful review, it’s Independent and very clear. Can’t wait for the update about stability and Absolutely agree with the need of at least 4 Hdmi (that in facts seems to be not in the blackmagic standard and this is a limit.. so i’m still swinging between this and the roland one)
Amazing review! Congrats! How did you solder the headset cables? I need to do it urgently! Where can I find the way to solve the cables? Help me please! Thanks a lot!
Very neat and concise, but, no NDI, no SRT, no HLS for TH-cam, no colour correction for cameras other than Blackmagic, no graphics generator, no web inputs. I'll stick with my high-end vMix PC for now.
Ndi will probably never come as they made their own system that works with their cameras... & Probably not helped that it's licenced, that's not never btw but just stuff to consider
Can the ATEM Television Studio 4K8 record internally and externally at the same time? Also, If the ATEM is set to 4K 30, can I set the record quality at 1080p 30?
Todays productions a much more than latest BM mixers can afford, all this audio mixing on board is almost useless, Iso recording is good feature indeed...but still bulky 8 input sdi unit ;) .Your presenting style is still very good, thank You
Very helpful video. Blackmagic made a sleek pro surface but put a screen in the middle that we CAN'T use for preview inputs. Furthermore, it's not even a touch screen. Deal breaker.
Bm please launch a full frame camera, ibis, high slow mo frame rate for 6k n 4k, long battery, auto focus... 15 stop hdr ... Waiting for it. And also please launch your lenses so that we can buy it together with the camera or at list make a tieup with any lens making company, which will cost us less
I understand BMD wanting to move over to a certain standard...... I have 4x hdmi and 4x SDI and I have and would have wanted 5 Hdmi inputs the next person would probably want all 8 HDMI.... So, moving over to a "standard" is harder but makes your equipment list or tech rider a lot more predictable...... And more expensive....... The thought process I think was, move over to SDI capable cameras..... But, that is also very expensive...... the laptop or for that matter PC or MAC is hard pressed for any form of SDI output.... That I agree on.
so in conclusion, the whole video is just about coolness, because all the other "arguments" are just show no real arguments. All the compared needed equipment has in sum nearly the same price like that one piece.
The fact this doesn’t even have a multiview monitor actually built in and you need to use an external monitor is just… ridiculous. Missing a real trick here in making in a one stop complete unit.
Turns out the 2Tb SSD is only included with the first batch of ATEMs ISO, sorry I wasn't aware of that ! It's an M.2 type SSD.
They threw in a $80 drive on a $4000 product for a limited time, WOW, what a give away...

Hello Doug,
Thank you very much for your feedback!

Do you have a walk thru video that talks more about the talkback features and how that works between the BM Camera and BM switcher?

how can I monitoring audio direct from item television ?
I'm curious, why aren't there power buttons on blackmagic switchers/ like is there a particular reason or they just simply don't?
Broadcast tech is meant to just stay on 24/7
but a main point of this switcher's marketing is portability right? @@Reedith

Can you access the recording on the ATEM via USBC direct connection to laptop?
Didn't manage to do it this way
does it record SSRC on one track during iso or do we still need to loop it out via aux and back in to get SSRC recorded?
atem tv HD8 support remote cameras with control and inventory for each camera?
I watched the whole thing but maybe I missed it.. does it have built in scalers like the atem extreme or no?
Sorry to hijack, but yes it has scalers on each input.
I have a HD8 ISO and is not possible to stream and record at same time. What is the solution?

@MiddleThings how do you configure a mix minus? Multiple Skype/MS Teams/Zoom participants in the calls?
does this atem get recognized like a webcam when using the usb c?
for podcasting using an smv7 do i still need a separate mixer like a rodecaster for that? or can this power the mic?
I like the black magic but There is no GPI for the tally
Why not just offer Dante audio mixing, HDMI input and NDI as options?
