I'm only new to this game, been playing for about 2 weeks or so.
I've got two golden arowana in my aquarium. Their hunger time is the same as the white shark or bowhead whale so you get some good coin out of them when in the aquarium. I caught my first one the other day and my second just tonight. They're so beautiful and much much larger than the Silver.
How I caught my ones was; I took the boat as far out as I could go at Downtown Deep and cast out max, you'll sink past some smaller fish so i recommend using a few minnows once you have the *** bait. The first few things you have to fish out of the way/avoid is some Tuna, couple of goblin sharks, sailfish etc which isn't much of a hassle, just keep using them as bait...eventually the line will drift in as it sinks to the point where you have a pretty clear path for it to swing down and end up resting against an underwater ridge.. a couple more small quick reel hits and you'll end up basically right next to one.
Its not too difficult once you clear that path and avoid from most of the annoying fast *** fish.
The one I'm struggling with is the Grey Whale at sea of statues to get into pagonda pond. I've fished a clear path to an underwater summit and hes just right there on the other side so i have to use quick tiny reel bumps to get it to climb the summit and then drop down in to the area where he is but the timing has to be right too cos he will only come close enough to summit for a second as I let the bait drop off the top and into his face...I've been stuck on that grey whale for a week id say. I've been so incredibly close and had him heading right for the bait at the right time then a fkn manta ray or another different whale steals it but at least I always end up with them as my continuous *** & **** bait lol
