Great job on the pipe work Lee if you wanted to pinch that ball valve off your other drum you could have closed the drain lines, pump the water from the drum into the pond then closed the return valve then your drum would have been empty to take the ball valve off 👍 But i know that's a pointless tip now as my misses saw your misses's tiktok video and I know your ponds already up and running and I tell ya what mate, well bloody done you all looked so proud and you should do mate you've done a fantastic job 👍
Hi Lee pond work is looking fantastic but just one thing watch out for back pressure on the internal seal of the new pressure pump. All the 90 bends straight after the out let will cause the inner seal to blow. Been there before mate, trust me fella it will happen. I have over 15 years working in filtration / process. I know the pumps are cheap but it a pain when you need to replace one and run in bye pass mode.
How I run my pump is on a separate chlorine free header tank for the pump supply. That way you can turn your trickle in off when treating your pond and not worry about the water level sensor going in to fault on the drum level. Also by being able to turn the trickle in off you are not diluting your treatments. That’s worked perfectly for me for years. But make the header tank big enough in case your water supply is cut off. I know it’s each to there own but I found this the best solution to cover every eventuality in the future. If it comes from the drum clean side you have to replaced what the pressure pump has used, when adding treatments not ideal. Also in the future you my not want to trickle in, and you will have the option to turn this off.
Outstanding Lee. The attention to detail is amazing. I’ve no doubt you were an exceptional soldier! If I ever get to Wales again I would love to pop in and have butchers and let you loose on my right arm. Can’t wait to see this in action. Amazing build. You are a clever buger for a para 😂
Hi a Lee , love the channel pond is looking awesome ! One observation is that the flow friend pump motor end is very close to the wall / enclosure - does this not need air flow to prevent pump motor over heating? Maybe core drill a hole directly behind it so the fan in the pump motor can draw air through .
Great update Lee. Can’t wait for the water to go in 😊 Just a note that two 2” pipes are about the same as a 3”. You would need four 2” pipes for the flow of a 4” pipe.
Looking ace lee. Can't wait to see the big fill. Just an idea the unused skimmer outlet solvent weld pipe just above the height of your overflow pipe then if you ever decide to use it it would be a case of just taking it out. Cracking build so far though bud👍👍
Nice job , But 2 times a 2" pipe is a lot less flowrate than a 3" pipe ( at the same pressure). But it starts to be a nice set-up. Greetings from france.
Couldn’t you put some 3” pipe inside the skimmer tall enough so it will be above the water level? Looking good now making me want to start my bigger pond but trying to hold out until the summer, it’s tho when I am watching your build 😂😂
I know how you feel Lee, the rain is the bain of my life at the moment! Coming together now pal! Good job 👍 Where are you getting your pipe and fittings from Lee? I'm shopping around for mine and trying to find the best price.
🤣🤣🤣🤣 knew it on the wall ties 4x 2inch pipes =a 4inch working in the area of a circle Area of a 4 inch circle is 12.6 sq inches Areas of a 2 inch 3.14 sq inches A 3 inch is 7.07 sq inches so just over 2x2 inches Handy when working out pipe restrictions and flow
Your such a tease - looking good, those little 5 minute jobs….are buggers, back and to the shops for bits n bob’s
Take an age!!!!!!
Watched this video then see Yaz has posted pond up and running 😳 absolutely insane!

Thanks mate! So I get them from a local place in Swansea!
@@leehadfield6881 OK no worries. Thanks Lee👍
Remember.. pipe. 2 + 2 is not 4 😉😊
Ya I know been told off about it 😂
I you have space. Get a Internel pump for your drumfilter.. less noise
Not sure mate but I don’t think so
Lee what size is the hole in the skimmer box you are wanting to cap off fella .
4 inch! All done now! Grey plant pot to the rescue
Not tempted to have an RSFEEDER on the pond????
Not to keen on the lettering on it to be honest but they do look good
How do u get the old pipe out the stop valves pls 😊
Check out my next video Amanda
Why don’t you fit an opening upc window in front of your skimmer pump? Just an idea.
It wouldn't open up enough they only open to about 70 degrees and slide down the frame about 1 third
Good idea, but iv got a plan
🤣🤣🤣🤣 knew it on the wall ties

1st cool 😎
I would add a rubber boot and silicon a cover over the top
All done now Chris
