    92-93 Suns went down fighting to the last second. Definitely the exciting team in the finals and throughout the season.

    Even though the Suns didn't win the championship that year, that parade was an appreciation day for the team, the organization, and for the city. There's no shame in coming second.

    That's probably why Jordan had to win in 1993, he had to slugfest with NY and Ewing then Phx and Barkley. Barkley had so much support and popularity in '93, I think Jordan had to beat Barkley to keep his financial integrity. He had to prove he was the best. He had to back it up nightly. And he couldn't let Barkley outshine him and his city in 1993. But I think it burned MJ out, he looked tired of Barkley in PHX in that 1993 interview of him. He seemed a little jealous.

      He only averaged like 45 ppg in that finals. Tired???

      @alecsanderhamilton9224 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ryangillum115 burnt out not tired. 1993 and the 93 NBA Finals were a peak of NBA ratings in the USA. Barkley was basically on an MVP tour all season and was at the height of his popularity and the season was like form fit around him and his Suns jersey was wildly popular. (Still see the Suns 34 🌞 ☀️ jersey in Puerto Rican 🇵🇷 nightclubs in May 7, 2022.) MJ was already a 2 time back to back champ 🏆, matching Isiah, and Magic 🛋 🎩 ✨️ in back to back feats. Which made the NBA and its fans thirsty for a throne takeover. Cuzz we love underdogs in sports and war and in life. Barkley and Ewing were fan favorites to do it in 1993 if Michael was to lose to anybody. This has a lot of toll and pressure on the 1993 Bulls and Michael Air Jordan. Remember too, this was after the Dream Team Verano. Which makes it more shiny an era in Jordan's career. Then Michael had the Game 1 or 2 Jordan gambling 🎰 scandal in NYC or Atlantic City while playing NY. And Michael was getting the treatment of treachery from a fan base that loves downfalls as much as breath of fresh Air Royalty. And at the same time, Barkley was rising 🙌 from ashes in Philadelphia and recovering from negative stories in Philly and had the Dream Team Verano where Barkley led all the Dream Teamers in scoring and got the Chuck Daly compliment that if Jordan was #1 and undisputed. Then Barkley was #2. Considering Hakeem was still coming up, means quite alot and is a contextual clue for you to see the climate in the 1993 NBA Finals. MJ was the old news 2 time champ 🏆 who had sharks 🦈 around him looking to clip his wings. 👋 maybe this indeed caught him by form of his father's 👋 murder 🤔 😳 after climbing up the mountain ⛰️ again in 1993 over Barkley. Who was the most popular player in 1993 which when MJ was in his prime is a remarkable contextual clue to the landscape of the 1990s NBA. It was Michael Jordan's retreat into the Baseball ⚾️ minor league shadows that recharged him made him more popular with people again and more cinderellic and a classic hero enough to ride into the sunset by 1998 as a top gun who won his last shootout. But before 1994 MJ was turning into a villain or at least a hero with kryptonite. 1996 was MJ cured of kryptonite. But 1993 NBA was Barkleys year that Jordan had to take from Barkleys table. Cuz the NBA was serving Barkley anything he wanted. Then Hakeem came and jacked Ewing and Barkleys titles in 1994 and became the surprise throne thief not many expected. And in 1995, Hakeem protected his throne surprisingly versus Barkley, Admiral and SHAQ whom were all again bigger favorites than Hakeem. Then by 1996. Jordan took a wide open throne cuz Hakeem wasn't sitting there undaunted by midway thru 1996 season. He never held the throne as tight and as aloft as MJ did. Not even as tight and aloft as Isiah did.

      @@alecsanderhamilton9224 Barkley won league MVP in 1993 and rightfully so, his team has the best record in the nba. But Jordan was still the most popular player in the world in 1993.

    • @alecsanderhamilton9224

      @@ryangillum115 u missed my point. Jordan was teetering in popularity and facing more stress from his own point of view being the center of the basketball world and being a Pop culture behemoth. But it was wearing on him as he started saying begrudgingly in 1992 to 1994 by time of his retirement. He had many things begin dragging him down in the spotlight he was in. The 3peat was a special challenge for him as he wanted to separate himself from Magic and Isiah. But Barkleys star 🌟 was definitely on the rise and he was maybe the biggest star in the league in 1993. He was a fresher star than Jordan. What I said was and is correct. Not saying Jordan was less popular than Barkley in 1993 but there stars were heading in different directions. Jordan's was leveling out and stressing him out and eventually forcing him to leave the game and ride a minor league team bus 🚌 cross country to feel like a commoner again. Barkley on the other hand was fresh out the Dream Team after seasons in Philadelphia where he felt unloved and not part of the elites big dances in the postseason. When he joined Phoenix he was on a 50 win team without him, a team with a new jersey and look that was popular in 93, and was the new MVP largely because of the momentum of all the freshness surrounding Barkley in Arizona. What I said was right, I don't know what else to tell you and how to say it. Thank God I don't count anything I do as a waste of time.

      @@alecsanderhamilton9224 teetering in popularity? The Bulls were the first 3 peat team ever. Jordan and the Bulls were at them apex of popularity in 1993. How can that be teetering? Jordan retired because his dad got murdered. Also, he did have any challenges on the basketball court anymore. He didn't retire because there was too much pressure on him.

      Oh, shut your yap. The Suns had a great year and a great run. The fans are just giving them an appreciation for their effort especially for a team doesn't get to the Finals very often. Also, not every franchise is created equal. Just because the Bulls wouldn't have done it doesn't mean someone can't do it. If a city celebrates a team for at least getting to the Finals and playing well, they should have the right to celebrate that. Who cares? Just let them be. At least they got to the Finals, not many teams can say that.

    I live in Vegas and there were people here who wanted to do this for the VGK when they lost the Stanley Cup final to the Capitals in 2018. It would have been attended like this one for the Suns was. The players and organization steadfastly refused - saying that you only get a parade when you win the championship. Some of them even referenced this parade for the '93 Suns saying they held a parade for finishing second and then never made it back, like they had jinxed themselves. VGK got their parade this year.
