This made me cry.... This ONE woman’s contribution to her community’s health and well-being is one beautiful step towards our collective healing. I LOVE that she mentioned that our ancestors’ wisdom is in us. It is. Epigenetics has even shown that we carry the memories of our ancestors! Our ancestors live through us... And that is why she received so much more support in accomplishing this than she expected.... Cuz the ancestors showed up to help too!! All they needed was a way.

I'm in a suburb of Minneapolis and would love if our community did something like this. We should all be growing something, anything. Even a window garden of herbs is better than nothing. I used the flower beds here to grow potatoes the lazy way last summer. There wasnt much to harvest but i only did a little bit of weeding and will try again this year.

THIS is the kind of story that should be featured on the news! Stories that give us hope, empowerment, and a sense of community. Way to go Nkoula! To have given so much and still be so young, she is a shining example!
We always hear about "food security", but if that security still leaves you dependent on a system that cares more about your money than your well-being, it's no security at all. She is spot on when she says we need food sovereignty. And it IS within our grasp.

TRULY inspiring! I have access to an (organic) allotment garden myself, only 22 square meters, but still I am able to grow carrots, red beets, pumpkins, radishes, roman cale, swiss chard etc. I often donate to some of my colleagues, who appreciate my little gifts. Poor nutrition lead to so many things, physical and mental diseases alike. Soo good to see that you are spreading the "green gospel" to your neighbours. Greetings from Oslo, Norway.

My mom's yard was and is always seen as a food forest. As a pastor she also made sure to fill the church's yard with loads of fruit trees and vegetables. And this way she knows people in the community have fresh food. She lives on an island that imports most of their food, so this makes me so happy to see people growing everywhere now. Due to her, I have always have something growing. I am now a balcony gardener, and finally also have a community garden. We plan to grow even more of our own.

Inspiring. Thank you. I have been trying to find a way to use what I have learned via TH-cam and from elderly family members who grow up gardening in South Carolina as a way of life but haven't gardened in years. I've built 3 gardens outside of my own this year and have encouraged others to the garden as well. it brings me so much joy and community. Again, thank you for helping me find a way to do something I enjoy. My deceased grandfather enjoyed farming 200 acres in South Carolina and I feel he has been pushing me to do this for some years now.
