Thank you, Alexander. That's been a deliberate move and I encourage most men to find a color that accentuates their best features and to make it their signature.
As a professional makeup artist for both men & women, I say to only tweeze the unibrow portion of your eyebrows. Your inner eyebrows should ideally begin at your eye & no more than the beginning of your nose. I noticed that your eyebrows begin at different points. Your right eyebrow starts nearly at the beginning of your eye & your left eyebrow starts at your nose. Decide which you prefer. After tweezing, scissor cut any stray hairs, without using gels, etc. afterwards. You’re going for the Bond look, so check out Sean Connery’s eyebrows again. They are minimally tweezed with no styling product applied. Feminine women like masculine gentlemen, not men who spend too much time in front of the mirror. I’m not criticizing you, only giving constructive tips. I love what you’re doing, which is why I’ve taken the time to give you these tips.
- hello 😊 Yes 👍 💯 agree ! Im female & have been in the fashion advertising model industry my whole life, so I consider my observations & upkeep on presentation experienced the most positive sense. I was going to say the same! Tweeze the eye brows & leave them not too clean of a line that looks weird & fake. Men should be clean with only subtle grooming. The last thing we as women want to feel is the sweat 😥 of over grooming starts to look not masculine & like they are hiding something with the over attention. A gentleman is clean trimmed & well dressed in a natural way like he was born into it. Maybe thats the difference when a person is trying to hard to fit into a new slot it can come off as too contrived.
I completely agree with the transformative impact weight loss can have on your face. Features like my jawline and cheekbones became much more defined. My dating life improved significantly as a result. I think a lot of men would be surprised by what is hiding under excess body fat. Additionally, clothing tends to fit better when you’re lean, further enhancing your overall appearance.
Absolutely. A lot of men are obsessed with size, but most the guys I see in the gym are borderline fat. I think being athletic and lean is much more preferable.

@@Gent.Z - female here. My long term man is a handsome 6’2” athletic strong model body. I generally like a light stubble on his jaw line as it subtly strengthens his jaw & I find the visual aspect & the scruff on my face when cuddling both sexually exciting among other attributes . This also depends on the activity. On the weekend & casual activities & construction type job sight this is appropriate. If he were to be meeting my parents Id say a clean shave is the only option. The question is dose it enhance your bone structure? & when is it appropriate in your life style? What dose your girl freind like? Change it up!
Great video. I myself have gone through a transformation and lost over 25 pounds. Like you, I created a caloric deficit every day, cook my own food free of sugars/dry carbs and rich in protein and fibre. I also started doing intermittent fasting and stop eating at 7 pm and outside of coffee with a teaspoon of MCT oil (twice a day) , do not eat food until 2 pm. Getting rid of the body fat has really helped chisel my face more and my body. I agree - getting a haircut to shape your face is important. I strongly believe finding a good stylist is important. I see mine every 5 weeks, and in between get my hair trimmed/cleaned up. I get my eyebrows cleaned up with either waxing or yes, threading as my eyebrows can get quite 'scraggly' if untouched after a month.
I had a full head of thick hair. Used to grow it to my waist too. It started go away when I turned 50. I also stopped giving a damn about hair as I got older so it evened out. I just comb back what I have left and keep everything neatly trimmed.
For me by far best advice was to do Intermittent Fasting and cutting out most of carbs. Intermittent fasting is easy for me because I usually didn't eat breakfast before. These two principles allowed me to drop 12kg in 6 months.
I find a slightly tousled middle part or a slick back to be very attractive on men. You have great hair so you could do any style really but that's just my opinion. I agree on experimenting with facial hair. Facial hair to men is like what makeup is to women. It could easily elevate or detract from your facial features.
Taking care for yourself is easy but starting is the hardest thing. The mental thing in buying all these products and creating habits to use almost all of them every day.
Female subscriber here, another great video James, but I have to say you did not look bad when you were at your peak bulk, nor did you have “hamster cheeks”. You looked very nice then, as you do now, but as you said, it is all about how you feel most comfortable. Interested to see your shaving video, as there is nothing more classic than a man shaving with a proper razor, and badger bristle shaving brush. I realize you are English, but Happy Thanksgiving to you, and your Gent Z community.
Good comment. If a guy is 40 pounds or less overweight losing weight won’t make much of a difference in the level of attractiveness for most men. I know guys who have lost 30 pounds and no women have noticed until he said something.
Hello female here 😊 I agree Prefer a strong 💪 bigger man over a thin frail non muscular man any day. Yikes 😬 I think from just looking at him in the suit he could have another 15-25 lbs easy & be optimal. But he says it goes on his legs ? So maybe hes found the happy middle. Just build up the torso shoulders if anything to balance the legs. Just a thought since he mentioned it.

What's your take on getting nice clothes (especially tailored clothes) if you're a skinny guy going through bulking-cutting phases to have a better physique? Should one wait 1-2 years before buying anything nice?
Good question. Don't get anything custom or made to measure. Buy shirts and get them tailored but ask your tailor to leave the excess fabric in so it can be let out again. Some of my clothes were let in and out 3-4 times during my bulking and cutting phases.
Hello! Stylist here with advices nobody asked for. You look great but this outfit looks a bit too tight and stiff on you; a bit too mannered. As if you were choking. The reason why is because you are probably a Natural body type (in Kibbe's system). Naturals look better in slightly loose outfits with a looser, deeper neckline. They can look very composed and elegant even in more relaxed clothes. On the contrary, when they wear a super fitted high neckline with a tightly knitted tie, and very angular shoulder line, they can look a bit awkward and forced; as if they were trying too hard. Don't get me wrong, this is just a small thing, a little detail. If you would like to look super harmonious and balanced, you can bring out the best of your individual beauty and sexiness by wearing lines that are slightly less angular, a bit less fitted, a bit more relaxed.
I haven't done any deliberate training or exercises. But as I've got more practice at speaking I have learned to control my breathing better and annunciate words more clearly.
At 180 pounds, I suppose in person you look much thinner than what u do in camara?? I'm saying this because I'm a 6"2, athletic, 209 pounder, and the only time I went down to 185 pounds, I looked extremely thin and much taller.😢
I think you might have that thing that a lot of gym guys get where they think they look a lot smaller than they really are. You might also be leaner than I am which makes you look thin even if at the same weight as me. I'm working on leaning out right now so I'll see what that looks like.
@Gent.Z Yeah, it could be a combination of both of your points, but when I went down to 185 pounds, it was the opinion of others in my social circle who thought that I looked too skinny. In the end, I guess two people of the same high and weight if they have different body composition, they are going to look different.
I agree 185 for 6’2 is bordering on thin. Depending on bone structure. I definitely think a man 6’2 with a good athletic muscular build ( wide shoulders strong (not bulging pumped up bloated muscles) arms & hands & trim hips & firm behind ( muscular from doing activities rather than pumping up at the gym (or gosh no using hormones) might be best at about 200+ lbs. Judging on my fellow who is 6’ 2” with an ideal XL almost XXL build from good genes & activities.
I started going outside more and living a healthier lifestyle overall. Even though I used to live in LA I didn't spend much time outside because I was always working. Now this is my full-time job I have more time to spend outdoors enjoying myself.
No hate bro, but I think you were more handsome 6 months ago or so (pause), when you had the light stubble. You're starting to get that Ken Doll or Handsome Squidward look. Maybe that's what you're going for though.
You're right there, Sam. The ways my appearance has changed are somewhat superficial but the change in who I am as a person over the last year has been much bigger and more significant.
Your podcast is excellent James. But, I'm in my mid-sixthies, and have lines, hair loss, (ball crown) but in good shape, (i go to the jym 4 days aweek) so your advise to young me, doesn't reflect older men. who are past by like a ghost, on the town.
I suppose there is a wide spectrum. English traditional mens clothing I feel is the ideal reference. Think of Saville row Anderson & Shepard custom suiting grey flannel pinstripe, birds eye tweed ( prince Charles tailor) Lobb shoes 👞, mac raincoat, wool & or tweed over coat 🧥, grey flannel pants & suits. Turnble& Asner custom shirts. Classic good quality ready to wear Old England cashmere cardigan, dressing gown in navy cashmere. Black velvet slippers. Cotton pyjamas or night shirts. Fine wool or cotton sox. - All classic masculine gentlemen & not too precious. Just classic quality & timeless design. - For a rougher gentleman look as seen in Guy Ritche movies & the newer James Bond Craig …..? Something. - Fun conversation similar to comparing the French woman’s appeal to the American . The French woman get all the treatments done but present themselves like they are not trying to impress you! Whereas the American women like to show that they made the effort groomed & polished . You see the makeup hair nails 💅🏼 etc. While the french do more subtle makeup backed by the most current “treatments” that aims to look natural beauty, it looks like they barely have make up & the hair looks wash & air dry. - I lived in France Paris for 20+ years & was married to a frenchman always lived in a chic neighbourhood & fashionable associations. Husband had all his suits & most all of his clothes custom from England. Exception was Weston leather shoes from France. Although recently they have tried to modernize & last I saw they had som3 rather ghastly more pointed toes . Ugh 😩. But the traditional styles with thick layered leather sole is /was great & gave a man substance, Grounding.
Female here, Id say a hard No to that year long beard option, thats just messy & weird, al5hough if a man is not very handsome on the lower face like a weak chin & fatty neck might be a choice to try. When I see a man with a grown beard I figure he’s hiding a not very handsome face and weak chin & or double chin you’re not fooling us !! If you do have a weak chin or double chin or super thin lips or something that’s not working there proportionally then yes that’s what moustaches 👨🏻 and goatee and a light beard 🧔🏻are made for. If your an average to handsome fellow then A Few days stubble for a casual rougher sex6 look or clean shave 🪒is best appealing option to attract an estrogen abundant female. I agree changing up throughout the week may be a good option 👍.
Calorie restriction was proven countless times to be ineffective in the long run. Too much hunger, too much cortisol. At some point you will give up. It’s not about the quantity, but quality of food you eat that will regulate your hormones and, in effect, put your weight where it should be.
I don't feel hungry because my calorie deficit is small and I eat all good whole foods. Calorie restriction is highly effective in helping people lose weight. Most people just lack willpower and discipline long term.
@@Gent.Z "...my calorie deficit is small and I eat all good whole foods." Yeah, that pretty much nails it. A modest calorie deficit over an extended period is what leads to fat loss. There's a grain of truth to what @marekmalinowski4354 said, though. Too big of a deficit leads to more muscle loss and generally feeling miserable. The latter is why a lot of people quit.
Calorie restriction is scientifically the simplest and best way to lose weight for the overwhelming majority of people. If you get hungry, eat better food or push through it.
I think the keyword here you mentioned is willpower - I agree that it is necessary in sustaining calorie restriction, but there’s a reason people feel ravenously hungry on calorie restricted diets. And those are the hormones like grelin and leptin. As we agreed, whole foods is the answer. If you address your satiety, you will be healthy without the need to count calories.

Your podcast is excellent James. But, I'm in my mid-sixthies, and have lines, hair loss, (ball crown) but in good shape, (i go to the jym 4 days aweek) so your advise to young me, doesn't reflect older men. who are past by like a ghost, on the town.
The most important thing is to look at the “man in the mirror”
Don’t be so self-absorbed and misogynistic
I guess probably he won’t wear pants during his TH-cam shoot😂
You definitely have become more “american” and forgot a bit of the good old british understate
@@4seasons546 not really talking about clothing here but anyway...
You can talk all day long about everything, but when your pants are too shoort you missed the whole thing..sorry
Wow, you are a big boy!
bro... you look the same, just a little older...
try growing the beard out for a year
I prefer the clean shaven look.
Mate you look good but like you are 46 years old
If women won't take u I will.
I worry about you, my dear.

In order to make a positive presentation of yourself which means everywhere you go every time someone looks at you they’re making a observation so self-awareness looking at yourself objectivity Lee like it’s not you but you’re someone you seen in the street that’s what’s needed to know how to adjust your choices and make a positive presentation/impression of yourself this is general cleanliness Cleanliness and self care whether you’re aware of it or not you’re always making choices are you clip in your fingernails are you making them clean the clothes that you choose to wear your haircut what you do with your eyebrows this is a choice you’re making your they’re deciding to avoid it and steam ignorantly unaware that your choices are affecting you positively or negatively it’s your choice .
Botox
Weirdly I get this comment a lot but no I have never had botox or any cosmetic procedures. I think they rarely look good on a man (or woman).
