Thanks for watching. Unfortunately, no. It won’t do as well as the bfs version. This one is made specifically for typical weights from 1/4 oz to 1/2 oz.
I've done anything from 1/8 oz to 1/2oz. I feel like the sweet spot is 1/4 but i was throwing it on a medium heavy. Could get a little less or more out of depending on rod.
Gosh I can't decide between this , the 21 Antares dc, the 18 Antares dcmd, new 23 dcmd and the excense dc ?? For bass and pike in northern Michigan..btw, I have the calcutta CTE total efficiency..300 from around 2011, and wow still flawless , winder why discontinued..
That’s like asking who is my favorite child! All are definitely great choices. For some reason, this Calcutta conquest 100 is my favorite. The way it palms is just…. Phenomenal for my hands. I like it… I love it lol.
@@ChewyThaoFishingI'm leaning towards conquest yes , also because I ran across some interesting info from swimbait underground - issues with the Antares MDs? please update us on performance.. I bought daiwa steez hlc and zillion 1000 hd last week lol
@@muskyvictim i have b the 21 antares and love it, best cast distance out the three from my testing's. its great for bass and i even caught big michigan pike with it no issue
Sweet reel👍 The gold, non DC Conquest is very good as well. Although, I’m not a fan of the Shimano mechanical brake system. Wish they had a magnetic system like the Diawa Steez.
Magnetic braking is dated compared to Shimano's VBS/SVS. The problem with magnetic braking is once set, it's always on- all portions of the cast, even whiling reeling. SVS is only "on" when it's needed.
@@roadhouse8604not true at all. Try sticking a magnet to your spool. Good luck. Magnetic braking in baitcasting reels uses electromagnetism. As a conductor (the spool) is rotated it generates an electromagnetic field, so, there is only braking applied to the spool as it spins faster, just like centrifugal brakes.
Great looking reel. Looked to be very smooth. Definitely going to be watching when you get some fish on it! Thanks and hope you get out soon!
Thank you, David!
Keep the vids flowing 🌊
Thank you for watching Diggy!
Now I'm curious if all calcutta cast like this , I mean why not right ?
How lower the gear ratio, how smoother for most part on every reel
Can you throw a super light lure with this reel like conquest bfs reel?

How would you rate casting distance?
1/4oz to 1/2oz is the sweet spot. Anything over is hard to cast and anything under just doesn't have the power due to the lightness of the lure.
what do you thing what would be the lure weight range that this real would handle?
