Take Toni Collette in hereditary, that was an Oscar winning performance. But the academy dosent look at horrors. And I agree, Kathy bates won a well deserved Oscar in an amazing film but I would personally class misery as more as a ‘thriller’ but I agreee it has aspects of horror. TBH it’s a shame that some categories don’t get taken seriously. Xx
Demi Moore deserves the Oscar this year! Her performance was so heartbreaking and powerful! Based on this trailer, Pamela deserves a nomination as well! I think it will go to Mikey Madison though! She is the new kid on the block and her performance in ANORA is earning raves!

I just watched a recent interview with her. She expressed a lot of personal pain in her private life. She’s been through more than most people would even realize. She’s even sworn off wearing tons of glamorous makeup like she used to. She’s embracing her aging at 54, I believe. She seems really humble and down to earth unlike Hollywood and television portrayed her in the 90s. This trailer is reminiscent of what we saw from Mickey Rourke in The Wrestler and Brendan Fraser in The Whale. I I have been following the Oscars for 40 years and something about this trailer gives me the same vibes I’ve seen in the past. I have nothing to lose rooting for her.
Looks like she finally gets to show the world her acting prowess and this character looks like a perfect match to show the world, she has the chutzpah. Will definitely be going to see this.

They are releasing this movie Jan 10 2025, why wouldn't they release this year so she could get nominated or at least attention, makes me think the film is not very good. Films die in January.
