    just found this video. bought the same system and the aquaphor was perfect. I was cussin and whining for 10 min trying to work with this line. I bought some extra line from home depot and it was much easier to work with but all in all got it done. Thanks a heap for the advice. Now imma go pout about my thumbs hurting so bad.

    I live in Az and one way we save water is we have hydroponics. We have trays of water for the bottoms of the plants to sit in, a small fish tank water pump with an adjustable pressure, we run the hose from the pump with misters above the plants. This way the water is recycled with some water loss but not much even with natural evaporation. Also with the sitting and circulation of water when it’s hot it will create humidity in your greenhouse.

    I use under the bed storage boxes & keep everything watered from the bottom, saves time, water & frustration.
    I plan to add a system like this for propagation.
    Thanks for the video.

    I appreciate you filming your learning experience. I was coming up with solutions as you were. Its fun "colabarating" with TH-camrs. Thank you, This is a very helpful vidow. I have complete confidence putting in my watering system now.

    One way to combat the plants drying out is to get trays or dishes for the plants to sit in so you can fill it with water, which also encourages root development to grow deeper and give you stronger plants. I absolutely love the bootstrap farmer trays because, while expensive, they lasts years!!!

    I have the same mister...use a cigarette lighter to slightly heat/soften the tubing then slide on the T...the only way I found that works just like irrigation tubing for lawn

      @DJDOUBLE077 ปีที่แล้ว

      I use a lighter as well...makes it painless! Any hest source should work.

    It looks great and seems to work great. The brackets instead of the staples will probably keep you from future headaches down the road.

    Dip tubing in hot water it softens it enough to slip tubing over mister. 😉

    I built a misting system with help from my irrigation company. A fabulous investment. Also a timer helps.
    Also, beautiful greenhouse.

    I don't have a raised bed garden that's shaped similar to a greenhouse. I just hooked up a 50ft mister system up and didn't use Stapler like you as it xan cause mistakes like making holes in the pipes or pinching the lines. Since mine is surrounded by a chicken fence and a barn/chicken coop wall I stapled zipties to the wall and just ziptied the line so it hangs over or near the plants and then installed the nozzles where I wanted them. Was fairly fast and simple and didn't have to rethink anything. I have a automated irrigation timer so I don't have to get up early to turn it on or worry about forgetting to turn it off. Not sure how long to set it which is what brought me to TH-cam and your video. Good video, just wished you had one about the timmer assuming you bought one eventually. I have mine set for 10 minutes once a hr. It's probably way too long and too much time between. With the Temps close to 100°F I'm thinking about changing it to turn on for 1 minute every 20 minutes. My main purpose for it wasn't to water the garden though it's a nice bonus, I was mostly just trying to get the Temps down so my tomatoes would stop burning up in the sun while the base and roots be looking perfect. Now i have to get a smaller system for my wife's flowers so don't have to water them over night.

    Suggestion: If you or someone you know is tech savvy and can program an Arduino, this can be automated. Have the arduino poll temperature and humidity. When your set limit(s) are met, the arduino can trigger a relay to start/stop the mist.

    👍👊 Looks like a winner. Maybe think about a timer to set at different intervals so you don't have to do it all the time. ENJOY

    Yeah, i was about to say - look out for the fish stench! I use it once a month in our indoor grow cart in my hubby's office and he's always ready to kill me! Esp cause it's over a heat vent and gets all warm and odiferous ;)

    Hi! Did you use water pump booster in this system or just a normal water pressure from your faucet?

    • @GatheredTogetherHomestead
      @GatheredTogetherHomestead  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      We just used the normal water pressure from the hydrant. I will say that our well hydrant did not have enough pressure but the one that’s on city water did.

    Have you had a problem with the most causing mold? I was told misting plants in a greenhouse caused mold. That you need the habe a container below the plants to water the plants from below. 🤷🏻‍♀️

    • @GatheredTogetherHomestead
      @GatheredTogetherHomestead  ปีที่แล้ว

      We have not had any issues with mold. If you look at a lot of commercial greenhouses they have above waters also.

  • @rgolianeh

    Your seedlings dry up inside the greenhouse is because it gets hot inside there.

    You may want to create a storyboard to outline what you want to present. To think any viewer wants to spend 28 minutes on a 5 minute presentation is asking way too much. The greenhouse design makes it almost impossible to control heat or humidity. Bye bye.
