How to make your own ear wires

How to make ear wires with copper wire or sterling silver wire.
Tools and materials:
20 gauge half hard copper or sterling silver wire from ‪@FireMountainGems‬
Flat nose pliers
Wood mandrel set from @artisticwirebrand /beadalon
Stepped bail making pliers ‪@TheBeadSmith‬
Cupp bur tools: ‪@beadalon‬ wire rounder or battery operated reamer with rounder attachment
Bench block
Ruler & permanent marker
Wire cutter
Optional: chasing block, metal file & nylon pliers
Directions:
*Cut 4 inches of wire. Measure with ruler to find the middle of the wire at 2 inches & place a permanent marker spot
* Place flat nose pliers on right side of permanent marker spot & fold wire in half. This should make them equal length on each side. For equal length, if one size is slightly longer trim with wire cutters.
* Using rounder tool, smooth out edges of wire on all ends
* Take ends of each wire, put at the top of bail maker, using smallest tip, 2 mm, & round the ends, forming a loop on each ear wire. This is where the ear wire connects to the earring piece.
*Put both loops in the middle at the bottom of the bail maker, resting on the smaller one bail of the 2. Hold loops in place & curve the wire around larger ball. forming a large loop. This is the body of your ear wire.
*Take both ends of ear wire & place at the top of the bail maker-2mm & curve to create a slight arch.
* and you’ve created matching earwires that are the same size. Optional is to hammer earwires for extra texture or hardness.
