    Could you share how much you spend on food per month? :) and nooo cash back is more worth it!! Now miles have been further devalued for SQ

      @hihi.ftan1  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Maybe I can do my credit card bill walk through 😜 Then can see how much I spend on food but at the moment, I’m guessing it’s $500-$900? 🫣 I hope it’s a 3 digit!! NUUU SO SAD

      @@hihi.ftan1 $900 because anything after work is mostly paid for by your BF, no way $900 can buy the way and where you eat.

    Hahaha I get what you mean by the hair in our face when we eat #longhairproblems 😂 I'd also just tie up my hair and tug the rest behind my ears, I don't really care 'cos enjoying the food is more important to me 😂 And I guess other people wouldn't care that much about how we look since they'd be focused in eating or talking to others as well 😌And the pillow! I don't like pillows that are too soft or too firm, cannot be too high or too low also hahaha! Both gives me neck aches the next day :"D I guess if you really can't find the perfect one, you can choose a slightly higher and firmer one first, at least you can "season" it to become softer and lower in height after using for a longer time (whereas you can't do it the other way round)... That's how I "seasoned" my current pillow xD
    For miles vs cashback, I guess it really depends on your lifestyle and what you prioritise at this stage of your life. I still prefer cashback for now (using mainly UOB Evol and sometimes Amex True Cashback), but you'd need to strategise and monitor your spending every month to optimise your cashback. This works for me because it also helps me to ensure that I don't overspend each month since I'm closely tracking it... So it really depends on you! :)

    For miles VS cashback, althought majority of them I know would prefer cashback since it gives instant rebate, but it is not so straightforward. Most of the basic cashback card(at least those offer higher cashback) required you to spend the minimum amount to qualify, and also maximum rebate you could earn under each cateorgies per month which means that most likely you would have to track your spending every month to make sure you met the qualify amount of spending and also not overspend to maximise the cashback. And also forced you to spend certain amount to qualify and if you did not spent that amount for that month, you would get very low cashback. So for me personally, I would prefer using miles.
    Meanwhile for general miles card, most cards(at least I know for those spending card) don't have any minimum spend or maximum miles you can get per month so it means you can earn miles easily without tracking. But for specalized miles card which gives more miles per amount spend, there is max. amount of miles you can earn per month but is still more straightforward compared with tracking with cashback card. And normally it is known that it is a better option to redeem miles for business class flights and more worth compared than paying with cash, so it is a good option to choose miles if you wanted to enjoy business class in a flight when you are going overseas in future by saving and redeeming the miles and enjoying that one-time experience without spending a big amount on it. But, there are also slight disadvantages for miles collectors as normally if we want to maximise the earn rates for miles, most miles collectors would need at least 3 credit card instead of using a single credit card to play the miles game.

      Nicely summarised!! You can be a writer 🤭👍🏻
      But I find it challenging to accumulate enough for a business class flight 🫣 it’s rakes up way too many miles :(

    • @deeeteee
      @deeeteee ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@hihi.ftan1 I completely agree. Eg a one way business class flight to Japan is already 70,000 miles (if you can even get a redemption ticket to JP, those are rare Pokémon’s lol). With a 3-4 mpd credit card, the conversion would still mean the one way ticket is $15,000 - $20,000. I really don’t think chasing business class tickets are that worth it. Immediate cashback is the way to go, esp when you have a house and wedding coming up.

      @@hihi.ftan1 For miles collectors, it is known that it is a better value and option to redeem miles for business class since the redemption is more worth it than paying in cash which could potentially cost you a few thousand dollars. However, you are free to redeem miles for economy class but then the redemption might not be too worthwhile and many might wonder cashback card would be better for this case or even simply just book a cheap budget flight. Although some cashback card claims you could earn up to (5 -10%) cashback, but there are all sorts of categories and restrictions and the minimum spend, and unless you really track all your spending diligently, it is hard to earn that cashback. Though there is a straightforward cashback card without any minimum or maximum spending, as far as I know, the cashback is really low(1.7% cashback from what I know).
      Though you might take a bit of time to earn those miles, it is still possible and enjoys that one-time experience in business class especially if you are traveling in a long flight. In this case, if you didn't apply to any credit card so far from that cc company, you can consider signing up for a new credit card and sometimes they will award you huge bonus miles for certain amount of spending for new customer.
