  • In this video I am upgrading my small oem battery (Group size T5) for a much larger (Group size H6) Optima Yellow Top Sealed Battery. There are lot's of Edge owners having issues with short battery life and hopefully this solves that problem. The H6 battery is used on all Ford Edges and Lincolns with the Auto Start/Stop feature. Sorry for the long winded video, I tend to over explain and repeat things but just trying to be thorough for those that appreciate it 😉 As always, hope the video is helpful to some of you out there and if so please give this video a like and subscribe for more content like this.

Looks like whoever installed the previous battery known that 96R and T5 are usually interchangeable but only if the car uses a top hold down or a clamp that clamps on the front/back flanges the side flanges on the T and H group sizes are essential in this application.

The Lincoln Nautilus uses that large battery--group 94R, 850 CCA. And they don't last long, either.

Optima's are expensive JUNK.................................In my experience the last 36 months!!!!!! At least the 3 I have purchased lasted that long.

Well seeing as how the average battery lasts 3 to 5 years I would say thats about right. There are so many variables though like, how often you actually drive the vehicle, extreme weather, short trips, battery maintenance and of course quality of the battery. For me Optima has been worth the extra money because we get down to -30 some winters and these batteries just do better in this type of climate. I have not had a single issue since uploading this video. Battery is tested every 6 months as recommended and it's still good.
