Thunder game plan basically putting everyone on paint and letting other guys shoot three. Its not like Pj or others hit contested threes.
PJ could have another game like that. PJ was 35% with open threes before he came to the Mavs. They are leaving our corner 3's wide open to protect the paint. PJ has been in a bit of a shooting slump but he could just be comfortable now.

Wow. Love this team. Hard to just call out 2-3 players. Luka’s massive Will while hurt, Kyrie’s defense and point guard play, PJ’s defense and amazing scoring, DJJ’s defense, THJ bringing his shooting back (boy do we need that!), Green’s hustle and shooting, and Gaff and D-Live are a godsend for the team. If only Exum can sink a few shots; his defense and size are really helpful.
Kyrie is a 6'2 defensive master mind!!! He can do everything. Defensive player of the playoff. By the way...Luka blocked Chet Holmgren on a three!!!

Refs gotta stop calling that moving screen. There was one play in the third where Dort threw himself to the ground, trying to draw another one. It was a blatant flop, and they've been getting the call so far.
OKC have been getting calls consistently. If they allow Dallas to play more physically or give Luka the same whistle as SGA gets, Dallas will blow OKC out the water

I feel like this series is cooked!! The fact that Giddey is ALREADY unplayable this early into it says a lot. The lineup with the most minutes together is now all busted up and the Thunder have to adjust. And at one point in this game I was thinking that Chet is becoming almost unplayable. They gotta ride with Chet but he might be their downfall with how he was playing.
But I think the thing that impressed me most was how calm the Mavs were. It had vibes of "just a regular season game, doing our thing, and try to stop us if you can". There was no pressure at all. They played fast & urgent but there was no sense of desperate urgency.
The series feels like Dallas is playing with House Money while OKC are the ones feeling the pressure. This young team is now facing a LOT of firsts & how are THEY gonna respond? They just lost a playoff game. They just lost homecourt. They gave up 100+ points for the 1st time.
So far it looks like the Thunder may fold under the pressure. I feel like Shai is gonna do his thing and not fold. But Chet may not be THAT dude. Dort is over-matched.
This was probably the worst commentated game I ever seen. Thanks ESPN. I missed Mark Followill and the crew.

The key moments, when the game was won, was via great defence, from about 6:23 to go in the 3rdQ - strangely with Luka off the court.
The role players stepped up and as a unit absolutely swamped OKC.
I always felt THJ had the ability to steal a game due to his shooting. However, it's all about consistency and what is needed in the game. If his 3 is not falling and defense is needed, then he needs to sit. If he can keep this play, this gives the Mavs more flexibility and can take the offensive load from Luka and Kyrie. Shout out to P.J, who is becoming the player who he is supposed to be.

I am honestly a bit concerned about Kyrie. He often looks to pass first, but tonight he seemingly didn't look to shoot at all as if something was bothering him. But we will see, maybe it's not an issue anymore in the next games.

The speed and youth of the thunder is going to continue to be a problem, but crashing the glass and smart passing can overcome that. The ball can always move faster than any play can run.
At this point, since Exum only plays 6-8 mins, hope Kidd gives Hardy a try. Even for limited mins only. OKC is leaving Exum all alone and he can't hit his shots. Maybe Hardy can do better with those minutes.. if not, just pull him out immediately..

If this game has given Tim his mojo back and if he starts playing the balanced game he did today that included passing, layups, jumpers and intelligent 3s, we’ve got a full squad on our hands and we have a chance to beat anyone. Just wish maxi comes back towards the end of the postseason.
Im glad we got a W. However, looking at Luka's knees I believe it is problematic. IK for a fact that a knee sprain does not bleed like that and for the long-run, we should consider shutting him down for our future. If we don't want what happened to Blake Griffin(not saying Luka jumps like Blake to dunking but knee injuries derail player extremely fast).

Having THJ backs just scares me to death. The man is too inconsistent and has the greenest green light I’ve ever seen. When momentum shifts in our favor, he ain’t passing that ball; and more often than not, he’s going to brick it hard. Then momentum changes again.
