Wonderful new (to me) varieties of veg to try out this season. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you Steve -🙏
That greenhouse really is fabulous. The shelving is so useful. It would be good to have a greenhouse review Steve as I don't think you mentioned the company. Its quite an unusual one. I doubt I could afford one but some might consider one.
I will be doing a review/design video soon Lynn, right now it's hard to find a time when it's not raining. All the details are in this chapter of my ebook though steverichards.notion.site/Greenhouse-Design-and-Growing-Guide-b3bf5d6ee29f4feaaa1671b0ea0a42f9?pvs=4 it was definitely an expensive purchase, it took a few years of harvests to pay for it : All the best - Steve
The greenhouse is a massive plus for U. It's an amazing space, designed really well. Great video
Formidable vidéo bravo 😊
Hiya, new here. So you put lettuce first in pots? Not directly outside? Cabbage as well? And how do you transfer it?
See the basic skills section of my free book, it goes through all of these topics steverichards.notion.site/The-basic-growing-skills-and-techniques-fabeb9d9ba5d4227a63226824a29ac82?pvs=4
Great video, your sowing of leeks, for summer and autumn,is it the same variety, but just sowed later in year thanks
Hi David, if you look in the database, which is the first link in the description, you will see the variety names. Hilari for summer and Porbella for Autumn and Musselburgh for winter and spring
Great video you said your green house isn’t heated where do you live you said you turn it on in April
That's right, I distinguish between heated and frost free. So it's frost free in March, and heated in April, I live in Lytham St Annes, in Lancashire, pretty frosty here, but it's a negligible cost to keep it frost free, but heated to 11c in April is a different story! : All the best - Steve
Hi Steve I'm growing some sweet peppers this year but tomatoes take up the raised bed in my polytunnel, what size pots would I be able to grow them in until there ready to harvest?
Unconstrained they grow into big plants and would probably benefit from 30-35 litres, unless you can water them most days, then you might be able to get away with a smaller pot. I've had comments from people who grow them in 15 litre pots, in water trays, but the plants are constrained and much smaller than mine : All the best - Steve
I'm struggling to find the varieties of seeds you're sowing.
What seed supplier do you use please? I'd rather go to one place that's credited.
If you look at the first link in the description you will find the list of everything I'm sowing for the month, each entry lists the variety and the seed supplier and most have a photo of the seed packet : All the best - Steve
Hello Steve, please can you tell me if your greenhouse is heated I can’t believe how far on your vegetables are
I distinguish between heated and frost free. So it's frost free in March, and heated in April, I live in Lytham St Annes, in Lancashire, pretty frosty here, but it's a negligible cost to keep it frost free, but heated to 11c in April is a different story. The veggies in this video are the mostly third successions, I don't show the ones that are already planted out in my seedling updates : All the best - Steve
Steve I’ve gotten scab on my spuds grown in containers. Any tips to prevent same? Thank you.
Everything I know about scab is in my book here: www.notion.so/steverichards/How-to-Grow-Potatoes-7bfc751e03d34e018ae8692a86110f14?pvs=4#33252d4d9b2849d7957c0b1a7754ce13
What is the lettuce with mottled green and red leaves? It looks great
oh actually it might have been Navara, take a look at both : All the best - Steve
Hi Steve, what lights are those that you’re using?
I got a job lot of second hand ones off ebay, a mix of marshydro 250, 300 and 150's : All the best - Steve
I have a decagonal greenhouse but having great problems getting slaving for it…any ideas gratefully received also can’t attach anything to roof for hanging…:/
❤❤❤❤❤
Steve, who are your go to seed companies.
I don't tend to buy from specific seed companies, I go for the varieties that I want, Amazon makes that easy. I do buy plenty from Moles, Just Seed, Premier, Seeds of Italy, Grow seed, Vital and a few from Real Seeds and plenty more. You can see who supplies my seeds in each monthly growing guide airtable.com/appZUuG0p5vkxzPmp/shrkenbo6SxHnqJ40 (at the bottom) and here: airtable.com/appZUuG0p5vkxzPmp/shrVwV2z8hRnRmyTY : All the best - Steve
What are the variety of tomatoes Steve?
There are two, the tomatoes that I showed growing are Red Profusion, the earliest variety I've found that works in hanging baskets. The ones I'm sowing for the polytunnel are the variety Tumbler : All the best - Steve
How do you heat your greenhouse Steve?
All the details are in here: steverichards.notion.site/Greenhouse-Design-and-Growing-Guide-b3bf5d6ee29f4feaaa1671b0ea0a42f9?pvs=4
Amazing video as always. I am going to buy lettuce seeds and i am looking for a crunchy lettuce do you have any suggestions? Thanks 👍
Canasta is my favourite for crunch from seeds of Italy, much healthier than icebergs
inside yes, then under fleece in March and uncovered some time in April : All the best - Steve
