Complete lack of awareness. That's what happens when you reach a certain level of success. Not everyone but a lot of celebs and influencers get so self-absorbed. You enter this world of money, entitlement, greed, and all of that can completely change a person. Again not everyone.
One thing that always sticks with me when it comes to people like this: they are not messing with people their own age for a REASON. Nobody their age wants to be around them/accepts this behavior. In my head the go for younger people to mold and manipulate because they know they’ll most likely get away with it. It’s such sick behavior.

I’m 28 and I’ve been on and off dating apps since I was 18. And you know what’s funny? I’ve NEVER gotten catfished by a minor lying about their age, and I’ve never started talking to someone on dating apps/in DMs only to find out later on that they were a minor.
Probably because I don’t swipe on anyone who looks like they could be a minor, because if they do, I wouldn’t be attracted to them. Shockingly, it’s actually very, very easy to avoid talking to minors inappropriately if you aren’t a groomer.
It’s harder when you are considered a “celebrity / or influencer” people actually bait you. I’m not defending his actions but I’m just saying … it happens to them a lot more often…

Exactly this. James and Colleen may have been putting on personas when they abused children, but those children were not acting or even remotely in on the gag.
