New Elementary "Innovation Design Studio" Class: The Inaugural Year

The 2021-22 school year was the first for a new Computer Science and Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) Specials class for all RTSD elementary students: Innovation Design Studio (IDS).
IDS for grades K-5 complements the established Specials of Art, Music, Library, Physical Education, and Wellness to allow for a common experience in Computer Science and STEM for all students and to deliver Pennsylvania Computer Science and International Society for Technology Education (ISTE) learning standards.
IDS ran on a six-day cycle alongside the other five elementary Specials so all Specials could include "integration time" to bridge special area content with grade-level curriculum and programming.
